Starting today, Toys R Us is having a 2 day sale on select LEGO products. The first deal is a 2 for $5 on the Series 12 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71007). Basically you are saving $3 for every two that you buy which is a pretty good deal considering that they go for $3.99 each. This is an in-store only offer. As you can see from the image above, TRU stores are stocking a whole lot of them. I can personally say that I put out six brand new boxes so if you’re in San Diego and are still looking for them, the La Mesa TRU has them.
The other notable LEGO sale is $15 off for select LEGO Lord of the Rings and LEGO The Hobbit sets including the Lake-town Chase (79013), An Unexpected Gathering (79003), Pirate Ship Ambush (79008), and Battle at the Black Gate (79007). These are pretty good deals for sets that are soon to be retired. This offer is valid for online and in stores.
Thanks to Stephen for the heads up.
It’s been a while since I got these but I finally have some time to do a review for the Series 12 of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71007). The packaging for this series goes back to a bright yellow for this release which is very similar to what Series 1 had. Each minifigure costs $3.99 each and there are 16 different minifigures to collect.
Unlike any other Collectible Minifigure series, Series 12 is the first of what could be subsequent series that collaborates with the LEGO Minifigures Online MMO video game. On the back of the promotional poster, there is a code that you can enter to unlock the corresponding minifigure in the game.
The first minifigure in Series 12 is the Wizard. He seems to be a Wizard that specializes in astronomy considering that the whole minifigure is filled with a design that is covered with stars and moons. According to LEGO’s website, the blue robe that he wears is call the Robes of Many Pockets. His staff is made up of three components: a rod, a telescope, and a blue gem. The cloak is two separate pieces which uses the new type of fabric that’s been introduced in recent sets. The wizard hat is a new element with a slight curve at the tip.
How to feel for the Wizard: Feel for the large dress/robe leg piece as well as the curved tip on the wizard hat. He comes 4 in a box.
The Huns were a group of nomadic people who wanted nothing more than to conquer their foes and building their empire. The most well known Hun is Attila and this minifigure may be based on him. The torso and legs has some armor printing that could be used for oriental warriors like a samurai. He also wears a long fur cape which is also new element. The helmet that he wears is bronze colored and has horns that attach to either side of the head. The accessories for the Hun Warrior are a long sword and a wooden shield. I see this minifigure being a great army builder.
How to feel for the Hun Warrior: The sword is the easiest thing to feel for. I’ve had some luck with the little horns as well. There are only 3 of him in a complete box.
The Fairytale Princess is pretty much who you would find in a children’s storybook. She wears a simple lavendar colored dress with a matching colored cone hat that has the hair attached to it. She does have a double-sided head with a nervous smile on the one side and a puckering up for a kiss expression on the other. Her accessory is a green frog which makes it seem that the minifigure is the princess from The Frog Prince story.
How to feel for the Fairytale Princess: The easiest thing is to feel for the dress/robe piece and the hair braids on the hat. You can find 3 of her in a full box.
Video Game Guy
As an avid video gamer my whole life, this minifigure is probably my favorite out of this series as it symbolizes who I am. He wears a black short sleeve shirt with an 8-bit “Player 1” logo across the chest over a long sleeve grey shirt. He wears light blue jeans with a flash drive key chain printing. For the head, he wears glasses and has a serious gamer look that I have when I’m being competitive. His hairpiece is similar to the DJ from Series 8 with a pair of headphones attached. His accessory is a game controller which is a mix of the classic rectangle Nintendo control shape and the button and color scheme of a Super Nintendo control.
How to feel for the Video Game Guy: Feel for the 1×2 tile piece and the hair/headphone piece. There are a whopping 5 of him in a box.
The Battle Goddess is pretty much LEGO’s representation of Greek mythology and it’s a very good one. She wears a white tunic with some armor printing over it. There is also some wristband printing on the arms. She also wears a white fabric skirt piece over her legs. The pearl gold headpiece is attached to her yellow hair. Her accessories include a long spear and a round shield that has printing of a winged horse which possibly could be Pegasus. This also may suggest that the Battle Goddess could represent Athena since she helped tame Pegasus in the mythology.
How to feel for the Battle Goddess: The spear and the round shield are the easiest way to find the minifigure. Four of her can be found in a box.
The Space Miner makes the return of another Space character in the Collectible Minifigures line. He wears a zippered jacket over his armor piece which we’ve seen before in previous series. The armor also has a variation of the Classic Space logo on one of the shoulders that shows a drill bit instead of the spaceship. The face printing shows some printing of him wearing a headset. The orange helmet also has a clear visor to go over it. The Space Miner’s accessory is an orange space drill. Overall, the gray and orange color scheme works pretty well for the minifigure.
How to feel for the Space Miner: The large armor piece is pretty much the only indicator you need to find the minifigure. You can easily find him with 5 coming in a box.
There’s not much to talk about on the Lifeguard. He has a muscular body type and he wears some red swim shorts with the initials J.T. He wears some blue shades and has brown wavy hair. His accessories is a red rescue buoy and binoculars.
How to feel for the Lifeguard: The rescue buoy is what you should feel for. There are 3 Lifeguards in a full box.
A new character in the western setting is the Prospector. He’s pretty much a minifigure who you would find during times such as the California Gold Rush. He wears a tan long-sleeved shirt with suspenders. He wears light brown pants with a patch. If you look closely at his face, you can see that he has a gold tooth in his smile. The hat that he wears is a very interesting piece where the bill of the hat is flipped up. His accessory is a pickaxe.
How to feel for the Prospector: The hat piece and the pickaxe are the easiest things to feel for on the Prospector. He’s one of the harder ones to find with 3 coming in a box.
We’ve already seen a couple of Jester minifigures since they were introduced back in 2008. He makes another appearance in Series 12 with a orange and purple color scheme. His motley costume is what you expect a Jester to wear. His accessories are two 1×2 playing card tiles, one being an ace of spades and the other is a jack of hearts or diamonds.
How to feel for the Jester: The hat with the two downward crown points tipped with bells are a dead giveaway. The two 1×2 tiles are also helpful in finding him. I had some difficulty finding him with only 3 coming in a box.
The Dino Tracker makes an appearance in the Series 12 Collectible Minifigures and goes great with the 2012 LEGO Dino line. She wears a tattered shirt with printing of ammo of some sort. The back of the torso has printing for the strap in the front. Her accessories include a bow used by Hawkeye and a green syringe. Some might say the minifigure looks similar to Katness Everdeen from The Hunger Games trilogy.
How to feel for the Dino Tracker: The bow is the easiest thing to feel for. There should be 4 of her in a box.
Pizza Delivery Man
I’m pretty sure that a lot of LEGO City builders are excited for the addition of the the Pizza Delivery Man to Series 12. It looks like he’s based on a teenager who’s working at the local pizza shop. He wears a stained green polo shirt with some blue pants. For his facial expression, he has some freckles with a smile that shows off his braces. He also wears a red hat which has an image of a pizza and the word below it. The accessories that are included are a pizza box and a whole pie.
How to feel for the Pizza Delivery Man: The easiest thing to feel for is the 1×1 tile since he’s the only character to have one in Series 12. There are 4 Pizza Delivery Guys in a box.
Another musician makes their return to the Collectible Minifigures line with the Rock Star. He wears a black studded leather jacket and pants. There is also some chest hair printing as well. His hair is typical of what you would see a Rock Star have back in the 80s with the large hairstyle. There are also silver streaks in the hair. His accessory is, of course, the electric guitar.
How to feel for the Rock Star: The guitar is the easiest thing to feel for. Expect to find around 4 in a full box.
When I first saw images of the Swashbuckler, my first thought was “Hey, it’s Inigo Montoya.” He wears a shirt that you probably would see a swashbuckler wear back in the day showing off his muscular build. His hat is similar to the Muskateer from Series 4 but in a brown color. He also has a pearl gold rapier as his accessory of choice.
How to feel for the Swashbuckler: The rapier sword is what you should be feeling for because the tip at the end is a dead giveaway. the Swashbuckler should be very easy to find because there are 5 of him in a box.
Costumed characters have always been a staple LEGO Collectible Minifigure series and in Series 12 we have another addition, the Piggy Guy. As you can see, he’s dressed in a pink pig outfit in which the back torso also has printing of a tail and the legs have hoof printing. The head is pretty much a pig head with the eyes, ears, and nose. His accessory is a green apple. From what I’ve seen at the LEGO Store, many people are searching for this guy.
How to feel for the Piggy Guy: The pig head and apple are the things you should be feeling for. There’s 4 of him in a box.
The Genie Girl is another character in Series 12 that has a old-school feel to it. She wears a light blue harem costume with printing on the front and back. The legs are actually the smokey part of when she is coming out of the lamp. It would’ve been nice for her to have a pair of regular legs though. She has a winky expression with long blonde hair. Her accessory is a pearl gold lamp. The Genie Girl kind of reminds me of Barbara Eden in I Dream of Jeannie.
How to feel for the Genie Girl: It may be a little difficult but the leg piece with the little curve at the end should be the thing you feel for. The lamp piece is also helpful.
The final Collectible Minifigure in Series 12 is the Spooky Girl. She has a Lydia Deetz feel to her with her gothic appearance. She is pretty much monochrome with her black and white color scheme. She wears a black jacket with a spider coming our of her pocket and striped legs. She also has a skirt to go along with her outfit. Her expression is very stoic and she has long dark hair. Her accessory is a modified teddy bear who has a button eye.
How to feel for the Spooky Girl: She is harder to find with only 3 coming in a box but the way to look for her is the teddy bear.
Overall, the Series 12 LEGO Collectible Minifigures looks like to be another hit. It adds some more variety to existing minifigures and most if not all of them can appeal with everyone. Many of the minifigures are very suitable for army builders like the Hun Warrior and the Battle Goddess.
As mentioned before, each minifigure has a code to unlock their respective characters in the game. You can check out their in-game abilities here. It also looks like each code is different so if you lose your code, you’ll have to find another minifigure or you can use your diamonds to buy a pack in-game and hopefully you can find the right one.
There are a couple of minifigures in the series that are my favorite like the Video Game Guy, the Piggy Guy, and the Spooky Girl however, they’re all nice additions to my collection. Now it’s time to speculate on what LEGO has up their sleeves for the Series 13 Collectible Minifigures which will be released next year.
There are various reports that the Series 12 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71007) have started to show up at Walgreens and Walmart stores. The official release date is October 1st but as we mentioned before, stores sometimes stock them on shelves a few weeks early and it looks like that time is right about now. If you’re driving by one of these stores and can’t wait two more weeks for them to be widely released, check out the stores and you may be surprised to find them on the shelves. Your mileage may vary.
If you’re new to the LEGO Collectible Minifigure line, Series 12 will retail for $3.99 each and they also include a code to used to unlock characters in the LEGO Minifigures Online game. Feel free to use our guide to help you with your search for each minifigure.

A few people have emailed me about a feel guide in preparation of the release for LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 12 (71007) in October so I guess I’ll write up a little something. Since the minifigures haven’t been released here in the US yet (that I know of), I’ll just describe what to feel for using images that are currently available.
We already know the distribution of the minifigures in a full box with WhiteFang’s review on Eurobricks and it will be a little easier searching for them since there are three full sets per box.
The easiest thing to feel for is the large dress/robe leg piece but be careful since the Fairytale Princess also has it. The thing that distinguishes this minifigure from her is the wizard hat piece. You’ll notice a little tip on the hat is slightly curved and it does not have hair attached to it like the Fairytale Princess has.
2. Hun Warrior
The sword and the pointed hat should be the things you feel for. Be wary of the shield piece which has a stud in the middle unlike the Battle Goddess who has a slightly different one.
3. Fairytale Princess
As mentioned before, she has the large dress/robe leg piece. The things that makes her stand out is her hat/hair piece. It is a single piece and is pointed on top with the braided hair attached at the bottom.
4. Video Game Guy
There’s nothing much that gives him away except for the 1×2 controller tile and the hair/headphone piece. Be careful if you only feel for the 1×2 tile because the Jester also has the same piece.
5. Battle Goddess
The easiest things to look for is the spear and the smooth shield.
6. Space Miner
The large armor piece is the easiest thing to feel for on the Space Miner.
You should be feeling for the rescue buoy and the binoculars.
The large unique hat is what you should feel for although it is slightly similar to the Swashbuckler’s. The pickaxe is also useful.
The jester hat is pretty simple to feel for. He also has two 1×2 tiles so make sure to confirm with the jester hat or you may be disappointed by ending up with the Video Game Guy.
10. Dino Tracker
The bow and arrow piece is the only thing you need to feel for to find the Dino Tracker.
11. Pizza Delivery Guy
The 2×2 pizza box tile and the 2×2 round pizza should be easy to feel for.
12. Rock Star
The item that stands out for the Rock Star is the guitar.
You should be feeling for the hat and the rapier sword. The hat is a little similar to the Prospector’s so confirm with the sword.
14. Piggy Guy
The pig costume helmet piece and the apple are the only identifiable items with this minifigure.
15. Genie Girl
The curvy genie leg piece should be the first thing you feel for. The lamp and hair can also help out.
16. Spooky Girl
The teddy bear is one of the good indicators that you’ve found the Spooky Girl.
So there you have it. A simple guide that you call follow to help with your journey to collect all of the Series 12 Minifigures (71007). For experienced fans who’ve done this for a while, you may or may not find the guide useful but for people who are new to this, I hope this helps you out a little.
Again, Series 12 will be available at LEGO Stores and on [email protected] on October 1st but you can probably expect them to show up a little early at Toys R Us, Walmart, Target, and maybe the shops at LEGOLAND.
Thanks to everyone who emailed in asking about it. Good luck!
WhiteFang at Eurobricks has posted his review of the Series 12 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71007) and as usual, he has done a fantastic job on the details including the distribution of each minifigure in a full box.
LEGO has finally gone back to three complete sets of 16 minifigures per box which means that it’s a little easier to find every one.
3 Genie Girls
3 Spooky Girls
3 Hun Warriors
3 Fairytale Princesses
4 Battle Goddesses
4 Dino Trackers
4 Piggy Guys
4 Pizza Delivery Guys
4 Rock Stars
5 Video Game Guys
5 Space Miners
I’ll be doing my own review once I am able to collect every minifigure. If you’re trying to collect them, I’m going to be at the Fashion Valley LEGO Store on when they open to feel through the packets so if you have some time, feel free to swing by and I can probably help you out.
