A new year and a new wave of LEGO Collectible Minifigure has been released, Series 13 (71008). The packaging for this series is more of a lime green color. Like with recent minifigures, they will retail for $3.99 each and there are 16 to collect.
Like with Series 12, Series 13 will be collaborating with the LEGO Minifigures Online video game where you can unlock the corresponding minifigure in-game but that’s not all. In one of our previous posts, we also talked about the “Collect & Win” thing LEGO has going with Series 13. Not only will you be able to unlock a character, there’s also a chance to win in game currency with free diamonds, looting Super Chests, 3 days of membership, or gaining Stars faster. If you enter your email, you can also try your luck to win some LEGO sets straight from the company. The more codes you enter, the more chances there are to win.
As with previous the past couple of series of minifigures I’ve been collecting, I’ve been using the feeling method to find the correct minifigures. You can read more about it on our feel guide post. … Continue Reading
The Series 13 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71008) have been officially released for a day now and many of you have gotten a couple of them, probably all of them. You may notice a mysterious “Collect & Win” logo on the box, packets, as well as on the inserts.
When you follow the link, it’ll direct you to enter the code that is included with every minifigure. This code allows you to unlock the corresponding character in the LEGO Minifigures Online game as well as a chance for free Diamonds, 3 days of membership, be able to loot Super Chests, and gain Stars faster when you enter it in-game but that’s not all. Keep in mind that you won’t be getting all the things listed. I entered the codes for all my minifigures and I got Diamonds only once or twice. All of the other ones were the 3 day memberships.
On the next page, you can try your luck to win some random LEGO sets. All you need to do is to enter your email that LEGO can use to contact you if you are chosen as a winner. Each code you enter gives you more chances to win so it’s sort of an incentive to buy more minifigures. Odds of actually winning is probably small to none but it doesn’t hurt to try.
With an overwhelming positive response through emails and comments on our Feel Guide for the Series 12 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71007), we’re going to do another one for the upcoming Series 13 as well. since there are no physical copies yet in hand yet, we’ll just go off the images from WhiteFang’s review on Eurobricks of some of the more notable things to look for with each minifigure. We should start seeing Series 13 hitting the shelves early again in a couple of weeks at retailers such as Walgreens, Target, Walmart, and Toys R Us.
The easiest thing to feel for will probably be the crown/hair piece. The pointed greatsword is also helpful but be careful since there there are three other minifigures in this series that also have swords.
Since there are no other minifigures that have a 2×2 tile, this will be one of the easiest things to feel for along with the hat for the Sheriff.
3. Unicorn Girl
Her bulky horse headpiece is probably the best indication that you’ve found her. The tail piece is also helpful.
4. Snake Charmer
There are a number of things for the Snake Charmer that can differentiate him from the others in Series 13. The turban, stick, and cobra snake are all good things to feel for.
Like the previous minifigure, the Goblin also has three things you can feel for to him him, the scimitar, bag, and headpiece with ears.
To find the Paleontologist, her safari hat with long hair is an easy to feel for. The 1×1 round plate and bone are also good indicators.
7. Alien Trooper
The Cthulhu looking head is a great thing to feel for when looking for the Alien Trooper. The gun with clip is also an useful thing to feel for.
8. Egyptian Warrior
Some of the things to feel for with the Egyptian Warrior are the khopesh sickle sword, the shield, and headpiece.
The Carpenter is a simple looking minifigure but there are things included with him that makes him easy to feel for including the 2×4 tile, the hard hat, and the saw.
10. Evil Wizard
Since he is the only one with the bulky dress piece, that should make him really easy to find.
The Fencer could be fairly difficult to find but the rapier and mask could make it a little easier.
Her large armor piece and two katana swords are great indicators that you have found the Samurai.
13. Disco Diva
Her large afro hair along with her skates and microphone are some of the things you should feel for when looking for her.
14. Hot Dog Man
The hot dog costume is the only thing you should feel far during your search for him.
15. Lady Cyclops
There aren’t much that differentiates the Lady Cyclops from the other minifigures in this wave but the spiked club and headpiece are somewhat helpful.
16. Galaxy Trooper
If you’ve searched for similar troopers in previous minifigure series before, you’ll know what to feel for. The space armor and blasters are staples in finding these guys.
For those who’ve been that this for a while, you can probably find them pretty easily without much help. For those who are new at this, hopefully this guide can help you find all the Series 13 Minifigures (71008) that you are looking to get. Good luck!
WhiteFang over on Eurobricks has done his review of the Series 13 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71008) and has given a distribution of each minifigure in a full box. Again, LEGO has gone back to having three complete sets per box.
Looking at the distribution, it looks like some of the more populars ones so far will be fairly hard to find including the Unicorn Girl and the Hot Dog Man. For the army builders, it’ll be fairly easy to find the Goblins, Galaxy Troopers, and Alien Troopers.
5 Galaxy Troopers
4 Classic Kings
4 Snake Charmers
4 Alien Troopers
4 Egyptian Warriors
4 Evil Wizards
3 Unicorn Girls
3 Hot Dog Men
3 Disco Divas
3 Lady Cyclops
LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 13 (71008) will be available at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home on January 1st and I assume the price will be same at $3.99/pack. You can probably start seeing them at larger retailers like Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, and Walgreens in mid to late December.
There is now an image of all of the Series 13 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71008) courtesy of German site Promo Bricks. The minifigures will be available in January 2015 as suspected. There is also a “Collect and Win!” aspect to these minifigures which unlocks features in the LEGO Minifigures Online game.
Promo Bricks also talks about the LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures (71009) which they believe will be released in May 2015.
Which of the Series 13 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71008) are you look forward to the most?
Update: After the image above has been leaked, LEGO has released the official images on their Facebook Page. Check out a closer look of them below.
Hot Dog Man
Hoth Bricks somehow has gotten an image of the retail display stand for the Series 13 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71008). A few days ago, there was a list that was revealed that could be the minifigures that will be in the next wave.
From the image above, you can see that they will be in a green packaging and we can see a few more of the characters including the Unicorn Girl and the Snake Charmer that we saw a few days ago which confirms that the list is legit. The minifigures in Series 13 that are confirmed in the image are bolded below.
Hot Dog Guy
Robert8 on Eurobricks has revealed the list for the Series 13 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71008) which comes from a German toy shop. This list does confirm some of the images that we reported on earlier today of the Unicorn Girl and Snake Charmer.
From the looks of the list, there are a few minifigures that are rehashes or updates of previous series. Keep in mind that the names are loosely translated from German so they may be different when the official names come out. What do you guys think of this list of minifigures in Series 13?
