For those who have been wondering if there will more LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets coming out in the future, we have some bad news for you. A press release yesterday confirms that the pretty popular Nickelodeon theme will no longer be produced by LEGO and the license has shifted to Mattel’s Mega Bloks which will start in 2016. Obviously, this is terrible news for us TMNT fans since some of us were hoping for some classic sets based on the late 80’s/90’s animated series. Rest in piece LEGO TMNT, you will be missed.
The stock on store shelves have been slowly shrinking on both the animated series sets as well as the movie sets but you can still pick them up on Amazon with some at discounted prices.
Thanks to Garrett for emailing this in.
Continuing with the unannounced promos on LEGO Shop@Home, they also have the free LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Flashback Shredder Minifigure Polybag (5002127) with any LEGO TMNT purchase. Again, any will qualify for the polybag including the keychains. Once a qualified item is in your cart, the Flashback Shredder polybag will also be added to the cart automatically. This minifigure was only available for short time back in July and is available again until December 31, 2014.
Thanks again to Joseph for emailing us about this.

LEGO has revealed another statue that you can expect to see at San Diego Comic Con 2014 this week, Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He stands at a whopping 7 feet high and is 36 inches wide. It took builders 35,322 LEGO pieces to create and it weighs in at 174 lbs. With something so massive, it took 269 hours or 11 days to build from start to finish. Shredder will be display at the LEGO Booth (#2829) and you can take a picture with it along with many other statues there.
On the July 2014 Store Calendar, it was listed that LEGO would be releasing some new sets yesterday but show showed an image of the Mutation Chamber Unleased (79119) set which has been out for a while now. As we predicted, the new LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets based on the Michael Bay movie are now available at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home.
Vern and Raphael are speeding through the city streets in the souped-up Turtle Van to rescue Michelangelo, but the Foot Soldier has lowered the barricade gate to block the road. Check the on-board computer to outwit it and accelerate to top speed to crash through the barricade. Open up the side doors to unleash the hidden flick missiles and fire the roof missiles to hit the gas tank and blow up the gate. When you find Michelangelo, release the mechanical arms holding him down on the stretcher and crank up the van’s Turtle Power to zoom away. Includes 4 minifigures with weapons: Vern, Foot Soldier, Raphael and Michelangelo. – 368 pcs/$39.99
The Turtles have come to the rescue of April and are escaping in the bad guys’ Big Rig truck. Karai and the Foot Soldiers are in hot pursuit in a super-slick black SUV so there’s no time to waste. Speed away with April hanging onto the side of the driver’s cabin. Grab your weapons then take the Turtle Power to the roof for a battle with one of the Foot Soldiers. Swerve to avoid the flick missiles fired from the SUV and tip ooze barrels into the bad guys’ path. When you’ve evaded the Foot Soldiers, open up the sides and roof of the truck to check out the amazing mobile lab! Includes 6 minifigures with weapons and an accessory: April O’Neil, Raphael, Leonardo, Karai and 2 Foot Soldiers. – 743 pcs/$69.99
The Turtle Lair is under attack by Shredder and his Foot Soldiers. Splinter, Donatello and Leonardo must split up to defend their home. Use the bank of screens in the surveillance room to keep an eye on Shredder’s maneuvers. Grab the weapons and defend the manhole cover entrance to the Lair. Climb the ladder and use the cool trap function to drop barrels on the bad guys. Don’t let the evil invaders explode the wall to the fan room, and if the Foot Soldiers discover the hidden door, elevate the slide behind it to drop them in the prison! Shut the cage door to trap intruders and make those villains pay for trespassing on Turtle property! Includes 6 minifigures with weapons: Splinter, Donatello, Leonardo, Shredder and 2 Foot Soldiers. – 888 pcs/$99.99
July is just around the corner and that means new promotions will be at LEGO Brand stores as well as on Shop@Home. As we mentioned before, July will be a mostly LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed month filled with events and giveaways to promote the line as well new Michael Bay movie that will be released in August.
First is the Free exclusive Flashback Shredder Minifigure (5002127) with purchases of $75 or more. This minifigure will be offered from July 1-20 or while supplies last. The Flashback Shredder is just Oroku Saki in a Foot Clan outfit with his signature claws.
For LEGO VIP members during the month of July, you will be able to get a bonus 50 VIP points for purchasing the Turtle Sub Undersea Chase (79121).
On July 1, the Free Monthly Mini Model is a cool little Old School Surf Van (40100). Families will be lining up early for a chance to build one and take home so get there early because I suspect that this month’s build will be a very popular one.
On the calendar, it shows an image of the Mutation Chamber Unleashed (79119) set and stating that new LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets will be available on July 6. These wave of sets have been available for a while now and I believe they are actually referring to the Ninja Turtles movie sets being released since they have already started to show up at Toys R Us stores.
From July 7-20, show off your building skills to create a Ninja Turtle and putting it up for display.
From July 14-20, head over to your local LEGO Store to find the hidden Ninja Turtles and Shredder placed throughout the store. There is an unspecified prize for finding them all.
July 26 will be the LEGO Club Meeting and the t-shirt for July features Leonardo.
From July 18-31, VIP members will get special early access to the new LEGO Creator MINI Cooper MK VII (10242).
During San Diego Comic Con 2014 on July 24-25, LEGO will be revealing a new exclusive set which I suspect will be the highly rumored UCS Tumbler (76023). Everything is still under wraps at the moment but we will be on the show floor during those days to cover the event so stay tuned!
It’s a new quarter so that means there will be some changes to the Pick-A-Brick wall. I’ve been informed that my store already has the new bricks in stock so I’ll be there during the Mini Build event to check out the wall as well.
For those who are in the UK or other parts of Europe, you guys have a different set of promos for July.
