LEGO Minifigure Trading Rumored to be Ending at LEGOLAND California

LEGOLAND California Star Wars Days 2015

If you’ve ever been to any LEGOLAND parks, you may have noticed there are LEGO minifigure trading posts set up throughout the park for attendees to trade their minifigures for other ones. There’s a new rumor at LEGOLAND California saying that they may be removing them before The LEGO Movie World attraction opens up later this year.

An employee told of the attendees who was there today that it was too expensive to maintain. It’s worth noting that they have noticed the park has reduced the number of trading posts and employees don’t have minifigures on their badges as much as before. This could all be a rumor but signs are pointing that the minifigure trading will be going away soon. I’m not sure if this will be the same for other LEGOLAND parks or Discovery Centers or if it is just for the one here. Thanks to Hank for the heads up.

The LEGO Bugatti Chiron took a team of designers and builders more than 13,000 hours to create the ultimate super sports car. Similar to the actual Chiron, the first fully-functional self-propelled Technic car is equipped with a rear spoiler, speedometer, front and back lights and detachable steering wheel that are all fully functional for this movable masterpiece. While the actual Chiron has been designed to reach record breaking speeds of 300 mph, the LEGO version is equally impressive as it has been engineered without the use of glue to keep the model together and allow it to be driven. LEGOLAND California The LEGO Movie 2 Experience Visit

LEGOLAND California The LEGO Movie 2 Experience

This past weekend, I took my family for their first visit to LEGOLAND California and luckily for us, they were doing The LEGO Movie Days as well as the recently opened The LEGO Movie 2 Experience. The Experience is similar to the one from The LEGO Movie where the LEGOLAND California Model Shop Team reconstructed some of the movie sets into this area of the park. For TLM2, there were more than 500,000 pieces used and took over 960 hours to assemble with the help of Warner Bros. to make it look as close as possible. From what I saw, it is a faithful recreation of some of the rooms from TLM2. Some of the details that are shown include the basement Apocalypseburg table, Bianca’s room, and even the laundry room. Check out the photos below.
