Minifigs

For Hulk’s Helicarrier Breakout, we get four minifigures: Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, and Loki. Hulk is an awesome looking figure and is exclusive to this set. Although his arms and hands turn a full 360, that’s pretty much all the poseability you’re going to get from him. The head and waist does not move. He has a similar body type as the Wampa in the Hoth Wampa Cave. One other thing that bothers me about this figure is that he has tan pants instead of his purple ones. He just doesn’t look right.

The next minifig we get is Thor. He looks pretty much what he looks like in the movies. He does have a double-sided face, one angry and one looking content. His hammer, Mjolnir, looks very plain and underwhelming. It just looks like a plain hammer.

Hawkeye and Loki are the exact same as the ones in Loki’s Cosmic Cube Escape. The only difference for Loki in this set is that he doesn’t have the Cosmic Cube.

Build

The first part of the build is a small S.H.I.E.L.D. jet fighter. The controls of the jet is only an antenna piece that’s very loose. There’s a gimmick to the set where you flip the yellow handle piece to jettison the canopy. It flips pretty good. There are four flick-fire missiles on the bottom of the wings as well as a few stickers you have to put on. A decent jet in my opinion.

Helicarrier

Starting from the left side of the Helicarrier, there is a station testing Loki’s staff with a computer right next to it.

Loki’s holding cell is the middle part of the Helicarrier part of the set. There are some transparent monitors hanging from the left side and computers on the top. If you look closely, there is a “Space Invaders” sticker on one of those monitors. There is a “button” you press to release the front part of the holding cell.

In the section right next to the holding cell, is an area to store fuel canisters. You can flip the lever and the barrels can fly. The furthest right section is just a platform.

What’s neat about the Helicarrier is that it has a modular feel to it so you can put the sections in whatever order you want.

Results

Overall, Hulk’s Helicarrier Breakout is a decent set and the minifigures are great. Like the other Super Heroes sets, they are the main draw of the set. I enjoyed building it and the modularity of the sections gives the set more playability. Another neat thing is that you get the new brick separator with the set. Although it is a little on the pricey side, it would be a nice addition to your collection.
