This is what the exclusive LEGO Star Wars Clone Trooper Lieutenant (5001709) looks like that fans could have gotten at Star Wars Days at LEGOLAND California this past weekend. Kids who entered and won the Jedi Trivia, got one of these bad boys. The minifigure was also given out to volunteers who brought a MOC to show at the Fan Gallery in the upper level of The Model Shop.
FBTB has revealed that volunteers will be getting a nice looking Yoda Chronicles t-shirt at Star Wars Days this weekend at LEGOLAND California. This is in addition to the Clone Trooper Lieutenant that volunteers will be getting. Be sure to swing by to see the Fan Gallery and all the MOCs that will be displayed. You can also meet members of SanDLUG as well as LUGOLA while you’re there.
Last month, LEGO unveiled the life-size X-wing Starfighter in New York. The starfighter has traveled safely from New York and now resides at LEGOLAND California. In the video below, LEGO Master Model Builder, Gary McIntyre, shows the viewer around the ship and tells the back story of how it got from the East Coast all the way to California. Right now, it is safely stored away in a hanger area at the resort and will be open for the public to view on June 13th until the end of the year. To give some details on the ship, it contains 5,335,200 bricks and weighs 45,979.61 pounds. It stands at 11 feet tall and is 43 feet in length with a wingspan of 44 feet. 32 builders at the LEGO Model Shop in Kladno, Czech Republic spent 17,336 hours to construct the starfighter. It is made to look like set 9493 from a few years ago. The giant version of the ship is 42 times the size of the real LEGO set.
FBTB has posted an image of the exclusive minifigure that will be available away this weekend at Star Wars Days at LEGOLAND California. The Clone Trooper Lieutenant will be given out to volunteers from SanDLUG and LUGOLA that help out on Saturday and Sunday. Ace has also mentioned that you might be able to get one from the Big Shop if you spend a certain amount there. Children might also be able to get the Trooper from the 501st Droid Hunt game that will be going on during the weekend.
I might be going to LEGOLAND this weekend to experience Star Wars Days once again but will not be able to volunteer with the local LUGs which saddens me. The life-sized X-wing Starfighter that was revealed at New York a couple of weeks ago will also be displayed there which I’m excited to see.
