Sonic the Hedgehog Rumored to be Confirmed for LEGO Dimensions

There are some new rumors regarding some of the expansion packs for Series 2 of LEGO Dimensions. CM4Sci over on Eurobricks has reported that one of the packs is “confirmed” to be Sonic the Hedgehog (71244). Of course, nothing is really confirmed until there are there actual details about them but CM4Sci has proven to be a very reliable source of information. Furthermore in the thread, there are strong suggestions that the KR (71252) pack will be based on the Knight Rider franchise.

To give a short roundup of some rumored LEGO Dimensions expansion packs for Series 2, we have the promotional Supergirl from E3, Sonic the Hedgehog, Knight Rider, Jillian Holtzmann from the Ghostbusters reboot, Adventure Time, Harry Potter, Fantasitc Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Teen Titans GO!

I have a feeling we’ll have more information about the next series of LEGO Dimensions expansion packs next month at E3 as well as San Diego Comic Con in July.

I don’t get it, they’ve got the rest of the DC universe regular, so why of all versions, the stinking GO! version?

    • Because money.

      • Kamil Drews

Or at least it was CN’s idea (or mistake)

    • Gomek

No Raven figure. Would be nice if it was just her.

      • Norse Highlander

        That’s the one Titan I still need…

  • Get rid of the awful new ghostbuster and TTG and this sounds awesome.

    • Matt

Yeah that awful Ghostbusters film you haven’t seen…. Wind your neck in, nobody is forcing you to go see it

      • Sony is hiding comments criticizing the movie, but not ones calling it racist… I think it’s pretty obviously going to suck.

  • Purple Dave

Because we’re still trying to get the rotten taste out of our mouths after the previous anime Teen Titans series. That and TTG is actually popular.

    • Doug

Speak for yourself, please. The previous Teen Titans show was awesome!

      • Purple Dave

Are you in your early 20’s to mid 30’s? Because in my experience anyone a bit younger than that is too young to have had their tastes tainted by the anime series, and anyone a bit older was too old too get sucked into the whole “everything has to be anime or it’s garbage” phase of kids’ programming, so we’re able to watch this and appreciate it without getting all in a huff because it pointedly ridicules the animation equivalent of Firefly (small core of intensely loyal and very vocal fans, combined with totally unremarkable ratings in original broadcast). Also, on the older side, many of us grew up on some combination of B:TAS, S:TAS, Batman Beyond, and JL/U, so our expectations were astronomical compared to what TT was capable of delivering. Heck, I was able to stomach watching The Batman and B:TBaTB in original broadcast, but only made it through 1.5 eps of TT before all the targeted jokes in TTG prompted me to endure watching the entire series just so I could more fully enjoy TTG.

The one Thing When thinking about the NFC chip for a sonic pack, is if Lego and Nintendo were to partner, Lego could obtain permission to use the same NFC chip that is in the Sonic The Hedgehog Amiibo, so it may become use able within smash bros or Nintendo other games. Maybe kinda similar to those crappy skylander-amiibo combo (http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Skylanders-Superchargers-Dark-Turbo-Charge-Donkey-Kong-Amiibo-FIGURE-ONLY-/121830457874?hash=item1c5da94212:g:OG4AAOSwFnFWAWUU) [look at that crack in the face] but Sonic Would of Course be a whole lot Better better.

I could see this working if they decided to put Legend of Zelda or Mario in Dimensions. It would be cool if they did a Dimensions Amiibo with Sonic, but I don’t know if Nintendo would be willing to do it for a character they don’t have the rights to just for some cross compatibility. Nintendo would probably want to do that for their own characters and franchises first, but otherwise I think a Sonic Lego Dimensions Amiibo would be pretty sweet.

I would love to see Sonic in Lego Dimensions, and having a Sonic minifigure would be amazing. It would be awesome to see other characters beside Sonic if they decide to go that far, like Tails, Knuckles, Amy, the Chaotics and Doctor Eggman. Just hope they don’t do the Sonic Boom designs; that would be horrible.
