Brick Fanatics Magazine Ending

Brick Fanatics has announced that their in-house magazine will be ending as of today. The magazine started a year and half ago with the publication coming out monthly. Brick Fanatics will now be using those resources and focusing on other projects that “offer a greater and more direct LEGO experience to readers.” Subscribers will be getting a refund for issues left on the subscription. You’ll have to email them at [email protected] with your name and order number. It’s sad to see another LEGO magazine go away but in the digital age, it’s hard to rely on print media, especially for news.

Brick Fanatics Magazine to conclude

Brick Fanatics Magazine, the print publication dedicated to building your world of LEGO, will cease production from Issue 12

After 18 months of hard work and fun, 12 editions of Brick Fanatics Magazine packed full of brick-based content and some quite remarkable, overwhelming support from readers, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the publication will cease production, with Issue 12 the last issue released.

We have learned a great deal during the creation, production and release of Brick Fanatics Magazine, during each issue generating and tailoring content to an intelligent, ever-changing LEGO audience, always with the aim that our tagline set out – building your world of LEGO.

It is with that message and ambition in mind, and with what we have learned during the course of producing Brick Fanatics Magazine, that we have come to this decision. There are many ways that we can build your world

LEGO Releases Video Discussing New Train Wheels

LEGO has released a new and rare video on the LEGO Ambassador Network featuring designers talking about the design change with the train wheels. The new wheels uses plastic instead of the metal axle and it allows for more flexibility when building your trains but there are other benefits. During the side by side comparison, the trains with the new wheels went around the track faster and it also improves battery consumption. Since the train wheels are made from plant based materials instead of using the metal bar, it is cheaper for LEGO to produce and that is passed down to us by giving more bricks in the sets. If you have any questions or comments about the new LEGO train wheels, feel free to leave them below and LEGO will be gathering feedback and try to answer questions about it.

We’re closing in on the end of 2019 and let’s take a look at some of the most popular LEGO posts this year on The Brick Fan. As of today, there were 896 posts so far this year and here are the top 10 viewed posts according to Google Analytics. LEGO Store calendar posts are usually popular here but they take up a majority of the spots so I will be adding them to the list.

Top 10 LEGO 2019 Sets

The year is almost coming to an end and I guess this is a good time to list my top 10 LEGO sets for 2019. According to Brickset, there were 785 LEGO products released this year but I’ll only be choosing ten as my favorites. Believe me, there were a lot of good sets that were released so it’s really hard choosing just a tiny fraction of them. Like usual, I’ll be using a number of criteria to rank them.

LEGO Ghostbusters: Afterlife Trailer Released – Sets Rumored for 2020

The trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife dropped today and it is a direct sequel to the original Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II starring Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Mckenna Grace, and Paul Rudd. What we’re interested here at The Brick Fan is if there are any LEGO sets for Ghostbusters: Afterlife. We’re unsure at this time but rumor has it from Brick Fanatics is that there will be some sets inspired from the film.

As you may know, the Ghostbusters theme isn’t new from LEGO as there has been a number of sets already including the LEGO Ideas Ecto 1 (21108), Ecto 1 & 2 (75828), Firehouse Headquarters (75827), BrickHeadz Peter Venkman & Slimer (41622), and sets for LEGO Dimensions. I wouldn’t be too surprised if there are sets for the new movie.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife releases in theaters on July 10, 2020.

The contents of the smaller counterpart include five numbered bags from 1-3, two instruction booklets, and a small sticker sheet.

Rumored LEGO Masters Bag Promotion in Mid-December

For those who aren’t keen on LEGO switching out plastic bags to paper bags next year, there’s a rumor that there will be a new promotion happening possibly mid-month that could sway your opinion. I’ve been told that there will be a LEGO Masters bag free with any purchase and it’s possible that it might be a reusable one. Obviously LEGO will definitely try to promote the show before the series airs in February. Take this as a rumor for now because LEGO has been doing promotions that aren’t listed on the store calendars.
