What is Going on with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga?

One of the main questions I’ve been getting recently is what is going on with TT Games and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and if it will ever be released. Honestly, I have no idea what is happening with the company. The game has been delayed a few times now due to COVID with no major updates about the game even during E3 last month which was very surprising.

Last week, there was a Xbox Two podcast that suggested that Warner Bros. was looking to sell NetherRealm Studios and TT Games according to some documents seen by Windows Central’s Jez Corden. However that was all disputed as TheGamer got a response from Remi Sklar of Warner Bros. saying that NetherRealm and TT Games will remain a part of Warner Bros. Games and are included in the Warner Media Discovery merger so that debunked that report.

In addition, there have been a lot of TT Games employees that have been leaving the company in the past year, some of whom have been working on The Skywalker Saga. As we know in our regular jobs, replacing people is sometimes difficult and new employees need time to get acclimated to what they are working on.

Although I’m still excited for the game personally, other people may be losing their interest for it. At this point, I wouldn’t be totally surprised if the game was delayed until next year. As a gamer myself, people need updates on the status of games and with TT Games not giving any, it … Continue

Join a father-and-son duo on a journey through an expansive LEGO universe

BILLUND, Denmark – [June 22, 2021] – The LEGO® Group is taking players on an epic, inspirational experience in LEGO® Builder’s Journey, available now on Nintendo Switch and PC. The game follows a father and son on a heartwarming journey through a stunning brick-built universe, filled with geometric puzzles that will surprise and delight players

“When creating LEGO Builder’s Journey, we were inspired by the new movement of games that focus on the overall experience for gamers,” said Karsten Lund, creative director and head of studio, Light Brick Studio. “We chose to focus on the emotional and evocative aspects of storytelling to spark players’ imaginations, and to encourage them to reflect on the importance of play and creativity in all of our lives.”

In addition to the playful themes sewn seamlessly throughout the narrative, the Light Brick team has designed a world featuring graphical upgrades to further immerse players in the game, including ray-traced ambient occlusion, global illumination, reflections, shadows, and other effects that make bricks feel more tactile and movement more fluid.

LEGO Builder’s Journey Game Preview

This morning, I attended a preview event for LEGO Builder’s Journey which will be available on Steam and Nintendo Switch on June 22. It was previously available for Apple Arcade but now, it has updated technology to be the world’s first ray-traced game made with Unity which is a custom integration specifically made for LEGO Builder’s Journey.

NVIDIA has teamed up with LEGO Games and Light Brick Studio to bring ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS in the game. If you’re not familiar with ray tracing, it is technology that brings realistic lighting while also having improved performance.

LEGO Builder’s Journey is an atmospheric, geometric puzzle game that asks us to sometimes follow the instructions… and sometimes to break the rules.

Take your time to experiment with free-form puzzle solving while immersing yourself in a poetic world of LEGO® bricks. Throughout the narrative, there will be ups and downs, challenges, and celebrations. Figuring out who we are and what we become is the Builder’s Journey.

The breathtaking LEGO brick world is brought to life with the most accurately rendered LEGO elements yet to feature on screens, including stunning ray tracing elements.

Arthur Parsons Leaves TT Games

There’s some sad news out of the LEGO games space as Arthur Parsons has left TT Games after 22 years. During his time there, he was their Head of Design and eventually Game Director on many LEGO games. He was pretty the face of LEGO games as he did many interviews on stream during the years talking about various games. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Arthur a few times during San Diego Comic Con and even did a roundtable interview for LEGO Dimensions way back in 2016.

Arthur worked on many LEGO projects at TT Games and some of them are currently available in the Humble Bundle LEGO Built to Bundle charity campaign which will end in seven days.

Good luck to Arthur on his future endeavors.
