Build Your Own LEGO Wooden Duck with JK Brickworks

Some of the younger generation don’t know that LEGO started out as a wooden toy company before they transitioned into the LEGO bricks we know today. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the LEGO brick, JK Brickworks has built his own version of the classic wooden duck using modern bricks and he has also provided the building instructions including the parts list consisting of a moderate 377 pieces. If you watch the video below, you can see the duck in motion with the opening and closing mouth feature. Of course, you can also change the colors to your liking.

LEGO Downtown Cars Showroom Modular MOC

The LEGO Creator Downtown Diner (10260) has been out for a few weeks now and fans have already taken liberty to modify their sets into their own. One of these builders is Brickdance9 who has changed the Diner into a Downtown Cars showroom. The set only uses parts from the Diner, minus the Mercedes AMG GT3 (75877) that is on the second level. This is a very ingenious way of using an existing large-scale set and changing it into something unique which I’ve been seeing more and more lately online.

Another Take on LEGO Voltron: Defender of the Universe

Voltron

If you know me well enough, then you would know that I’m a big fan of Voltron: Defender of the Universe. I’ve been collecting Voltron action figures since I was a old enough to know about it from the original lions to the Voltron Vehicle Force (DaiRugger XV).

Since returning to the LEGO community, I’ve been thoroughly impressed with some of the LEGO Voltron MOCs such as the one by len_d69 on LEGO Ideas which is still under consideration to become an official set. The same builder has also created a LEGO version of Voltron Vehicle Force as well.

The newest MOC is by Dennis Qiu and it is equally impressive. This version seems to be based on the Voltron Maquette from Sideshow Collectibles which has their sleeker interpretation of Voltron. One of the more notable differences is the slimmer body that it has compared to the bulkier original version.

Now the only thing I’m pretty much waiting for is the official LEGO Ideas Voltron set to be approved and released.

LEGO Blacktron II Inspired UCS Slave One

The LEGO Star Wars UCS Slave I (75060) has inspired many color swaps of the ship from Jango Fett to the White Prototype Boba Fett. One build that I came across on Reddit by Alg3braic is a LEGO Blacktron II inspired Slave One and I was drawn to it because I’m very partial to the Blacktron theme from the late 80s to the early 90s.

The build uses mostly the design of the official UCS Slave I but there’s also some customization to it especially the canopy area which took some ingenuity to implement the Blacktron canopy piece. Check out more images of the set in the link above.

LEGO Mascot Collectible Minifigures BrickHeadz

Collectible Animal Suit Brickheadz (2017)

The mascot LEGO Collectible Minifigures have been very popular with fans. The LEGO BrickHeadz sets have also been surprisingly popular with builders. What happens if you combine the two?

Jared Chan has done just that and has recreated some of the mascot minifigures from years past in the BrickHeadz style. These characters include Piggy Guy from Series 12, Bunny Suit Guy from Series 7, Bumblebee Girl from Series 10, and Chicken Suit Guy from Series 9. These look very cute and is a new way to look at the minifigures.

LEGO Stranger Things Upside Down Looks More Fun Than It’s Supposed To

One of my favorite shows from last year was Stranger Things and RyantheAmazing over on Reddit has recreated some scenes from the show with LEGO. Some details that it shows include Joyce’s living room, the kids playing Dungeons & Dragons, as well as a play feature that includes the Upside Down.

You can see lots of little details of the living room including the Christmas lights as well as the kids. The whole section then flips over using a Technic pin to reveal the dark Upside Down dimension. Check out the full album here.

LEGO Sentinel MOC by Henry Pinto

Completed Sentinel Pics. #legosentinel #sentinel #xmen #lego #marvel #mastermold

If you love X-Men, then you should check out what Henry Pinto has created the past few months. Many hours were put in to create this minifigure-scale LEGO Sentinel and is the most impressive one I’ve seen. I’ve been following Henry’s progress of creating the mutant-hunting robot on social media and I’ve looked forward to seeing the finished product. If only LEGO would release something like this as an official product but we can only dream. Check out the progress of the Sentinel in the link above.
