LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Maz Kanata Minifigure Revealed

**Image Removed**

I’m not sure how long this will stay up but a user last night on Instagram has posted an image of a LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens minifigure of Maz Kanata that is played by Lupita Nyong’o. Not much is known about the character but it is known that she is a space pirate from the planet of Takodana. She is also seen in the official poster that was released a few weeks ago.

This is an interesting minifigure because it wasn’t shown on the leaflet that showed some of the minifigures from the upcoming wave which could suggest that Maz is from a summer wave release. Rumor has it that there will be a set based on Takodana which includes Maz, an unmasked Kylo, and Finn with a lightsaber. Let’s wait a little longer to see if these rumors are true or not.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Winter Wave Set Images and Minifigures

LEGO Star Wars 2016

You guys might have already seen these images but earlier today while I was away at retail life again, Brickset has posted some images of the winter wave of 2016 LEGO Star Wars sets which was subsequently spread to other LEGO media outlets. The images come from a leaflet that’s included with the 30605 Finn (FN-2187) minifigure polybag which shows the sets that will be coming out in January as well as the minifigures for the sets.

Now that you’ve seen the images of this wave of sets, what do you guys think of them. Discuss below! Thanks to everyone who emailed me about it. I did see these images but didn’t have time to post about them.

It retails for $59.99 which is essentially the same price as if you would have purchased sets 75109 and 75112 separately. The only difference is that you also get a poster included with the box. This 2-in-1 Battle Pack is similar to the Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader (66536) one that is exclusivly available through Toys R Us. Thanks to John for sending the image in.

More LEGO Star Wars UCS Assault on Hoth (75098) Details

LEGO Star Wars Hoth Echo Base

A few months ago, I posted some details about the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Hoth Echo Base including the set number of 75098 with a recommended retail price of $249.99 which was found over on Brickset.

I have some more details about the set from a very reliable source. The set is actually called the Assault on Hoth (75098) and it will be a Ultimate Collector Series set. Pretty much everything that was shown in the mini movie will be in the set minus the AT-ATs. You can see some of the stuff in the screenshots I took above and below. Han is also shown riding the Tauntaun as well as a small Wampa cave with the Wampa bigfig and Luke hanging out.

Finally as far as the release date? I’m not sure about that but I was told that it would be released in August for New Zealand so I’m guessing it might be a May the 4th set since LEGO has traditionally released UCS sets around that time.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens C-3PO (5002948)

Toys R Us has finally started their promotion for the free LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens C-3PO (5002948) minifigure polybag. You can get it with purchases of LEGO Star Wars purchases of $40 or more. If you’re lucky, you can purchase it for $3.99 each.

The polybag features C-3PO 30 years after Return of the Jedi. Although the image shown on the polybag makes him look metallic, C-3PO is actually the flat pearl-gold color we’ve seen before. He does have some new side arm printing as well as on the legs. The most notable difference is the red arm that he currently has which also has some arm printing. There’s no word yet on how he got the arm but there will be a special one-shot from Marvel in December that will reveal what happened.

Again, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens C-3PO (5002948) minifigure polybag is currently free with purchases at Toys R Us. As far as I know, the stores in the San Diego area had around 200 each when I last checked on Saturday. Any that are left over after the promo, can be purchased normally. I would like to give a special thanks to fellow reader Daniel who sent this polybag in.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens C-3PO (5002948) Promo Now Live at Toys R Us

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens C-3PO (5002948) Polybag

The LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens C-3PO (5002948) minifigure polybag promotion is now live at Toys R Us stores. You can get it free with purchases of $40 or more with any LEGO Star Wars purchase of $40 or more. If you have trouble finding it in stores, check with the cashier or at guest service as they might have them hidden behind the counter and give them the item number 169326.

I did a check at work to see how many are around San Diego and most stores have around 200 in stock. Depending on how nice the employees are at TRU, you may be able to purchase one separately for $3.99 each. If not, just wait until the promotion ends next week and they’ll just sell them regularly.
