LEGO The Hobbit Bard the Bowman SDCC 2014 Exclusive Minifigure

LEGO The Hobbit Bard the Bowman SDCC 2014 Exclusive

Here are some clearer images of the LEGO The Hobbit Bard the Bowman San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusive minifigure. Earlier this morning I posted a picture from my potato phone but I’m home now so you can get a clearer look at him. As you can see from the packaging, it also says The Battle of Five Armies.

I was also told today that this minifigure will be available in a set in the future just like Azog from last year. Ace over at FBTB also has confirmed this piece of news as well. For fans who really wanted Bard but couldn’t go to SDCC, you can rest assured that he will be available at some point in the future.

LEGO The Hobbit Bard the Bowman Exclusive Minifigure at SDCC 2014

LEGO The Hobbit San Diego Comic Con 2014 Exclusive Bard Minifigure

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed the third exclusive minifigure that LEGO will be giving away at San Diego Comic Con 2014. Today, the news is themed towards The Hobbit and Bard the Bowman will be the minifigure that attendees will be trying to get. This version of Bard the Bowman will have an unique outfit and is different from the one in the Lake-Town Chase (79013). The article notes that to avoid the debacle of last year, the people running the booth will implement a system where they would scan an attendee’s badge to determine the winners of the exclusive minifigures.

Also at SDCC 2014 will be a LEGO statue of Smaug built by Erik Varszegi. It took Erik 625 hours to design and create and it stands over 6 feet tall, 64″ long (5 1/3 feet) by 88″ wide (7 1/3 feet). It is built with 83,433 pieces and weighs a whopping 411 lbs. It will be displayed at the Warner Bros. booth (#4545).

LEGO The Hobbit Smaug Teaser

LEGO earlier on their Facebook Page posted an image of a code 4FYKKB for the LEGO The Hobbit video game to unlock Narzug. This code has been out for a while now but the interesting thing is there is also a glimpse of a physical version of LEGO Smaug’s wing, tail, and feet. According to some reports, Smaug would be in set 79018 where it depicts the final scenes from the Desolation of Smaug and Brickipedia has him in a set called “King Under the Mountain.”

There’s still no definite news at this time of this wave of The Hobbit sets outside of online retailers having placeholders. This is just early speculation but I can venture a guess that Smaug will look somewhat similar to the dragon from the LEGO Castle Dragon Mountain (70403) but with a repaint. Hopefully we get some news on these new Hobbit sets soon and if so, they’ll probably be released later this year/early next year.
