LEGO Super Mario Conkdor’s Noggin Bopper (71414)

The 2023 LEGO Super Mario wave introduces new areas and characters for you to expand on and the first set that we’ll check out is Conkdor’s Noggin Bopper (71414). The set has 130 pieces and retails for $14.99.

Like with all other Super Mario sets, you’ll need the companion app to build the set. The instructions are interactive and polished but it’s also annoying because I had to download the app again to be able to build it. You’ll also need one of the Starter Courses to make it fully functional.

Once you get it built, there are some play features here involving Conkdor. There’s a small platform right in front of Conkdor to make its head drop down. On top of its head, there’s a barcode for Mario, Luigi, or Peach to collect coins from. After that, you hit the other platform to pop its head back up and rinse and repeat.

I will say that Conkdor does look good compared to its in-game counterpart. I do like the printed shades that it has and the pink spiked shell on its back.

Overall, the LEGO Super Mario Conkdor’s Noggin Bopper (71414) is not a bad set but at the same time, there isn’t much to go on. The only play feature here is bopping on Conkdor’s head using the two platforms and you’ll need a lot more in your course to make it worthwhile as you can only jump on its head so many times.
