LEGO Fusion Minisite Now Live

LEGO Fusion

The next big thing that LEGO has been working on is LEGO Fusion which was first announced last week. The idea of it is to combine traditional building with a virtual experience. I’ve recently found out that LEGO has also released a minisite for the new theme. LEGO Fusion will be available this August and September for $34.99 each at LEGO Brand Stores and Toy R Us as well as online on the respective sites.

On the page, you can see all four sets that will be included in the initial wave of LEGO Fusion: Town Master (21204), Battle Towers (21205), Create & Race (21206), and Resort Designer (21208). There are also videos for each of the sets demonstrating some examples of the builds as well as how the build is transferred to the virtual world and the different gameplay you can enjoy.

Town Master (21204)

In this simulation game, players create and rule their own LEGO town, first by building it with LEGO bricks, then by capturing it and importing it to the game. Children build everything from houses to a pizzeria, fire station and bike shop while completing errands and missions like catching robbers, fighting fires and skateboarding. To keep the minifigure citizens happy, players solve problems through physical building and earn points to gain access to more structures, and even run additional towns.

Battle Towers (21205)

Players build a tower and defend it against attack so they can rule the kingdom. First, players design the Battle Towers with real LEGO pieces, then capture

LEGO Ideas Exo Suit (21109) Launch Event in UK on July 26th

The English version of the European July/August 2014 Store Calendar is now available which has some of the same offers we reported earlier this week. This particular version looks like it is the UK version and there’s one additional thing on the list of events that is worth mentioning. That event is the meet-and-greet with Peter Reid, the creator of the LEGO Ideas Exo Suit (21109), at the Bluewater LEGO Store on July 26th from 12-4pm. There’s no mentioning whether if the Exo Suit will be available for purchase during the event or not but we do know that it will be available for us in the States in August with an estimated retail price of $34.99. The above image was linked on our Facebook Page by a fan confirming the launch event.

Brickset Branded Products Now Available for Purchase

Brickset merchandise

Brickset has teamed up with MinifigForLife Print Studio to create a range of Brickset branded LEGO minifigures and bricks for you to purchase. The items are printed on a Roland UV printer at 1440dpi so it is very high quality. Standard decal printing is about 300dpi so at 1440dpi, quality is on the higher end. There are currently six items available for purchase:

  • Male minifigure with white torso
  • Female minifigure with white torso
  • Male minifigure with blue torso
  • Female minifigure with blue torso
  • White 1×8 brick
  • Blue 1×8 brick

The minifigures are pretty much your standard minifigures with the Brickset logo branded on front of the torso and the 1×8 bricks make a great addition to your brick badges you get from various LEGO conventions.

The cost of the minifigs are £4.25 and £1.50 for the bricks. Converted to US Dollars, they are about $7.20 and $2.50 respectively. Shipping costs are £1.40 in the UK, £3.20 for Europe, and £3.80 for other parts of the world.

For payment, they do take checks, Paypal, or credit/debit cards so paying for your items is extremely easy. I purchased a minifigure and a brick and the total came up to $16.66 including shipping so it wasn’t that bad.

LEGO Has Won the Internet with Star Wars: Episode VII Cast as Minifigures

If you’re a LEGO or Star Wars fan, then you’ve probably seen the picture that was posted this morning and has gone viral. On LEGO’s Facebook Page, they have posted a spot on interpretation of the Star Wars: Episode VII cast picture that was first released a few months ago with the caption:

You’ve met the actors, now meet the Minifigure cast of Star Wars Episode VII!

It is both thrilling and surreal to start building in a couple of weeks, and we look forward to bringing this new world to life, once again (in 1/48 scale)! #LEGOStarWars #StarWarsVII

As we all know by now, a number of the original Star Wars cast will be returning along with some newer faces to the historic franchise. In the LEGO picture, we see, going clockwise, JJ Abrams (Director), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Daisy Ridley, Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Bryan Burk (producer), Kathleen Kennedy (President of Lucasfilm/Producer), Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Andy Serkis, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Adam Driver, and Lawrence Kasdan (Writer).

You’ll also notice some Easter eggs in the picture including Andy Serkis holding the One Ring which is a funny reference to Smeagol/Gollum from The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Another interesting Easter egg is the computer on the middle of the table with the dates 4-29-2014 and 12-18-2015. Hardcore fans would know that the first date is the day the Episode VII cast was announced to the public and the second date is the … Continue

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Plastic Man Plane Revealed

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham - Plastic Man Plane

The official LEGO Batman Twitter page has revealed Plastic Man as a single engine plane for LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. This is probably one of the many goofy outfits that Plastic Man has in the game. As we all know, TT Games likes to include humor with each of their games and this is no doubt one of the many humorous things that we can expect to see. This may even be a good use of game mechanics to use him as part of the open world play where we use him to fly around the stages.

The development team for LEGO Batman 3 has been pretty quiet since E3 but hopefully we’ll be getting some more details about the game soon like at San Diego Comic Con next month. Arthur Parsons has also hinted that they might reveal something else if the LEGO Batman Twitter page hits 10,000 followers so we’ll see when it does reach that milestone.
