LEGO Education SPIKE Essential (45345) Announced

LEGO has announced a new addition to the LEGO Education line with SPIKE Essential (45345). It caters to primary school students to ignite enthusiasm for STEAM learning through playful problem-solving and storytelling. Although the set is mainly used for school settings, you can purchase it for personal use as well. There are some new motor parts as well as a 3×3 LED module and a hub. You can pre-order SPIKE Essential today and it will ship on August 31.

BILLUND, Denmark–(August 17, 2021) – Today, LEGO® Education announced LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential for primary school students (Grades 1-5) to ignite enthusiasm for STEAM learning through playful problem-solving and storytelling. Part of the LEGO® Learning System, SPIKE Essential engages students in hands-on investigation of STEAM concepts while supporting literacy, math and social-emotional development.

SPIKE Essential joins LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime, LEGO® Education BricQ Motion Essential and LEGO® Education BricQ Motion Prime in the suite of solutions offered as part of the LEGO Learning System to deliver STEAM knowledge, academic practices and 21st century skills through a progression of playful experiences from primary to secondary school. LEGO Education Collaborates with NASA for STEAM Learning

LEGO Education has teamed up with NASA for a 10 week lesson series for engaging STEAM learning. It is a free STEAM learning series called Build to Launch: A STEAM Exploration Series that will be launching in September designed to encourage student curiosity on the Artemis I mission.

Through hands-on lessons, students will learn about the Artemis I mission and what it takes to launch a rocket to the Moon while being inspired to explore STEAM careers

Billund, Denmark (June 17, 2021) – Today, LEGO® Education announced a collaboration with NASA on a free digital STEAM learning series that will launch in September 2021. Build to Launch: A STEAM Exploration Series is designed to spark student curiosity and increase engagement in STEAM through the upcoming Artemis I mission. The 10-week series includes interactive episodes and open-ended prompts grouped into three learning themes aligned with the mission: Getting to Space, Testing and Transport, and Working in Space.

Teachers looking to reengage and excite their students in learning as they come back to school this fall can easily implement this standards-based series for grades K-12 into their curriculum. From astronauts to engineers and flight controllers, each interactive and hands-on lesson will highlight and explain careers at NASA to inspire students to see themselves in these roles. Students will work together to solve out-of-this-world problems just like the NASA teams they’re learning about. Throughout the series, students will also follow along and interact with the LEGO®


LEGO Education BricQ Motion Sets Available on LEGO Shop

The two new LEGO Education BricQ Motion sets are now available for purchase on the LEGO Shop. These two sets include the BricQ Motion Essential Set (45401) which targets kids ages 6+ and the BricQ Motion Prime Set (45400) which focuses on kids ages 10+. Both retail for $99.99 and they are sets dedicated to educating kids about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) in a physical manner.


LEGO Education BricQ Motion Coming Soon on LEGO Shop

LEGO has posted some product listings for the recently announced LEGO Education BricQ Motion sets on the LEGO Shop. The BricQ Motion Essential Set (45401) will be for kids ages 6+ while the BricQ Motion Prime Set (45400) will be targeted for kids ages 10+. LEGO started selling the LEGO Education sets on the LEGO Shop last year during the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and these new ones will further help parents and teachers educate kids about STEAM. There’s no word yet on when they will be available but both sets will retail for $99.99.

This morning, LEGO announced the new LEGO Education BricQ Motion sets and we were sent a copy of the BricQ Motion Essential (45401) set to check out. The set has 523 pieces and retails for $99.95 and is intended for kids ages 6+.


LEGO Education BricQ Motion Sets Announced

It’s been a while but LEGO has officially announced some new LEGO Education sets dedicated to teaching students STEAM while removing digital barriers and teaching physical science through fun and engaging lessons. There will be two sets called BricQ Motion that includes a number of building activities to allow kids to learn about motion. BricQ Motion Essential (45401) will be for ages 6+ and BricQ Motion Prime (45400) will be a bit more advanced for ages 10+. Teachers will also get online lesson plans along with 6-10 hours of education content and resources with the sets. Check out the press release below.


LEGO Education Sets Now Available on [email protected]

For the first time, LEGO is selling their LEGO Education line on [email protected] which includes SPIKE Prime (45678) and WeDo 2.0. These sets were originally for educators but since more kids are staying home these days, parents can use the Education sets to teach them about coding and programming. For the younger kids, there’s also the DUPLO sets that introduces them to the world of STEAM through creative play.
