LEGO Overwatch 2 Titan (76980) Release Delayed

LEGO has announced that they are pausing the release of the upcoming LEGO Overwatch 2 Titan (76980) to review their partnership with Activision Blizzard. The set was set to be released on February 1 which was one of my more anticipated sets so far this year but there has been a lot of feedback in the community regarding the allegations in the workplace at Activision Blizzard and why the set is still be released. LEGO will share an update for their plans on the partnership when they reach a decision on if and how Activision addresses their employees’ concerns.

We are currently reviewing our partnership with Activision Blizzard, given concerns about the progress being made to address continuing allegations regarding workplace culture, especially the treatment of female colleagues and creating a diverse and inclusive environment. While we complete the review, we will pause the release of a LEGO Overwatch 2 product which was due to go on sale on February 1, 2022.

LEGO Overwatch 2 Titan (76980) Revealed

The LEGO Overwatch theme was introduced back in 2018 and the theme finally makes its return in 2022 with a new set revealed as Titan (76980). The set is actually based on Overwatch 2 which I expected and it features Tracer and Mei who finally has a LEGO minifigure. The Titan is one of the main Omnics in Overwatch 2 which was featured in the announcement cinematic.

There’s no mentioning on a release date for the set but the game has been delayed indefinitely although the Overwatch League will be using an early version of the game when the season starts.

If you’re a long-time reader of the site, you’ll know that I’m a huge Overwatch fan even to this day. I still play it when I have some free time and I’m still waiting for that Lucio minifigure.

LEGO Games Logo Update and Rumored Overwatch Set Coming Soon

LEGO has updated the logo for their LEGO Games subtheme and there are rumors that Overwatch may be part of this gaming umbrella. It is reported that LEGO Games will become it’s own theme and will include everything that is related to gaming from various video games to the Bits N’ Bricks podcasts. LEGO could just put various game related sets under the general LEGO Games theme without actually having a dedicated theme for them which is a smart move.

On to the Overwatch rumors, it has been reported that there could be a LEGO Overwatch set 76980 coming in November featuring the Null Sector Titan. If you follow Overwatch lore, the Titan was part of the Omnic Crisis at the Paris attack. The set is rumored to have 901 pieces and priced at 79.99€. We’ve been waiting for more sets from Overwatch but the game has died down a lot since the last wave of sets but hopefully Overwatch 2 can reinvigorate the line in 2022.

Is LEGO Overwatch Theme Cancelled?

For those who know me, I’m a huge fan of Overwatch and have been collecting many things from the line including the LEGO Overwatch sets. It’s a pretty niche theme but there were some cool parts and minifigures that have come out of it. The sets did release when the hype for the game died down substantially but there were still many dedicated players and fans.

Since the game was released, there were 21 original characters available to play and by the time the sets were released in January 2019, there were 29 total characters. Out of those 29, we only had minifigures of 15 of them, 16 if you count Bastion, however we were still missing some popular characters like Lucio and Mei. In fact, we didn’t get six minifigures from the original characters (Lucio, Mei, Torbjorn, Zenyatta, Symmetra, and Zarya).

Fast forward to summer 2019 when there were rumors of another wave that set to release some time in 2020. Brickset has sets 76978-76983 in their database since July 2019 but those are just placeholders. I’ve been talking to friends and reading online and most have been saying that we may not see another wave of LEGO Overwatch sets and the theme may have been cancelled outright. However, I want to note that Overwatch 2 was to be released this year but was delayed and those placeholder sets could have been tied to the sequel. Whatever the case is, LEGO won’t speak on such matters so we don’t exactly know what is going on … Continue

LEGO Overwatch Bastion (75974) Amazon Sale – March 2020

The LEGO Overwatch Bastion (75974) is currently on sale on Amazon for $31.99 which is 36% off the regular price. This is the lowest price the set has been on sale for and is definitely worth the cost coming in at $0.05/piece. It is able to transform from the Omnic build to the turret without taking parts off which is nice. You can check out my review of the set here.

LEGO Overwatch D.Va and Reinhardt (75973) Amazon Sale – January 2020

LEGO deals have been somewhat limited so far in 2020 but there is a great one on Amazon for the LEGO Overwatch D.Va and Reinhardt (75973). It is currently on sale for $23.99 which is 40% off the regular price and it is the lowest the set has been on Amazon. Walmart is currently price matching as well.

LEGO Overwatch Watchpoint Gibraltar (75975) Walmart Sale – January 2020

If you’re still looking to pick up the LEGO Overwatch Watchpoint Gibraltar (75975), Walmart currently has a great deal on it. The set is priced at $62.99 which is 30% off the retail price of $89.99. This is the lowest the set has been priced at on any retailer and it also includes free next day delivery, free 2 day delivery, or free in-store pick up.

I feel the LEGO Overwatch theme is pretty underrated because not many people know about or play the game at all, however, the sets do have some cool builds and minifigures.
