LEGO Hidden Side App Discontinuing in 2023

If you’re still using the LEGO Hidden Side app for whatever reason, you only have a few months left on it. When you start up the app, you get a message from J.B. saying that the servers will be shutting down and the app will become discontinued at the beginning of 2023. The theme ended at the end of 2020 and I was surprised that the game actually lasted this long.

Although LEGO is still committed to the long-term digitialization goal, it hasn’t really worked out for them according to the last few themes that required apps. LEGO Fusion back in 2014 was a total flop. LEGO Hidden Side had potential but didn’t last either. LEGO VIDIYO was cancelled after only a few month but is looking to release new play experiences in 2023. The LEGO Super Mario theme doesn’t seem to be doing well either. The Luigi’s Mansion sets are already discounted and they don’t seem to be moving. Let’s see what LEGO has planned for other app-required themes but so far, kids seem to like to keep their physical and digital play separate.

Cartoon Network has released a new promo for their Halloween Haunted Hangout on October 31. Included in the lineup is a special LEGO Hidden Side Halloween episode called Night of the Harbinger. The episode will be 44 minutes long and it will be airing at 6:30. I’m not sure if that’s in the morning or at night.

LEGO Hidden Side El Fuego’s Stunt Cannon (30464) Polybag Review

LEGO Hidden Side El Fuego's Stunt Cannon (30464)

Starting in a few days on October 26, LEGO will have a new promotion for the LEGO Hidden Side El Fuego’s Stunt Cannon (30464) polybag. It has 46 pieces and you will be able to get it for free with purchases of $35 or more in stores and on the LEGO Shop, while supplies last.

LEGO Hidden Side El Fuego's Stunt Cannon (30464)

The polybag features El Fuego in his skeleton form with his red stunt helmet. The Stunt Cannon itself is mostly an engine turbine that uses a push function to launch El Fuego. The turbine is on a hinge so you can angle it at various trajectories.

Overall, the LEGO Hidden Side El Fuego’s Stunt Cannon (30464) is an alright polybag for $35. It’s not too flashy but it’s not too boring either. The promotion will run for until November 1, just in time for Halloween but if you order online, you probably won’t get it in time for Halloween.
