LEGO Architecture The Visual Guide

Coming off our report of the new LEGO Star Wars: The Dark Side book from DK Publishing, the DK Fall 2014 Trade Catalog is now available and there are some other notable LEGO DK books that will be coming out this fall. One of these new books is the LEGO Architecture: The Visual Guide. This book contains a whopping 232 pages of information about all the LEGO Architecture sets and the real life buildings that inspired them. Read more about the book below. This looks to be a very nice coffee table book to have and I’m very excited for this one. The Visual Guide is available for pre-order on Amazon and will be available on August 18th.

LEGO Architecture Trevi Fountain (21020)

Amazon.co.uk continues to give us images of the 2014 summer LEGO sets and this one gives us the LEGO Architecture Trevi Fountain (21020).

Construct a detailed LEGO brick model of the world-famous Trevi Fountain, the largest fountain in Rome. Designed by Nicola Salvi, the ‘Fontana di Trevi’ took 30 years to build and was completed by his friend – the sculptor, Pietro Bracci – in 1762, 11 years after Salvi’s death. This stunning Baroque monument carved from Travertine stone has been the backdrop for many classic movies, including Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita. And, today, over 250 years later, the 49-meter-wide fountain still draws thousands of visitors to the small Trevi square.

LEGO Architecture Trevi Fountain (21020) Revealed At Nuremberg Toy Fair 2014

In the beginning of the month, we reported that the next LEGO Architecture set would be the Trevi Fountain (21020). Promo Bricks has attended the 2014 Nuremberg Toy Fair and has took pictures of the set. The Trevi Fountain is located in Rome, Italy and was designed by Nicola Salvi in the 1700s. One of the traditions is to throw coins using the right hand over the left shoulder. The new Architecture set is expected to be released this summer.

Trevi Fountain (21020) is Next LEGO Architecture Set

Brickset is reporting that the next LEGO Architecture set will be the Trevi Fountain (21020). The fountain is located in Rome, Italy and was designed by Nicola Salvi. The Trevi Fountain is one of the most well-known fountains in the world and is a major tourist attraction in Rome. One of traditions to do at the fountain is to throw coins into it. The legend states throwing one coin means a return to Rome, throw two coins and it leads to a new romance and finally, a third coin leads to marriage.

The new Architecture set was discovered on South African LEGO retailer Kiddiwinks. There’s no other details at this time. If you’ve think you’ve seen the set number before, you probably have. It is the same as the April Fools set that Brickset “announced” last year.

New January 2014 LEGO Sets Now Available Plus Promo Details

It’s January, in the east coast at the time of this writing, and there are new LEGO sets available to purchase on Shop@Home. Some notable additions include the Maersk Line Triple E (10241)icon. The set contains 1518 pieces and goes for $149.99. Next is the LEGO Creator Parisian Restaurant (10243) which contains 2469 pieces and retails for $159.99. The newest LEGO CUUSOO set is also avaialble, the NASA Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover (21104). It has 295 pieces and goes for $29.99. Finally, you can get your hands on the LEGO Architecture Eiffel Tower (21019). This new addition contains 321 pieces and selling for $34.99.

There are also some promotions going on this month. From January 1-20, for every purchase of $50 or more, you can get a free LEGO City Police ATV Polybag (30228), while supplies last.

At the start of every week of January, you can get a free LEGO Movie character poster with any purchase. The characters include Wyldstyle, Emmet, Lord Business, and Batman.

Another promo for the movie is from January 20 through February 16, head over to your local LEGO Store and build something to display and you can get a free The LEGO Movie Accessory Pack.

LEGO Architecture Eiffel Tower Revealed

LEGO Archiecture Eiffel Tower

There is an image of the new LEGO Architecture Eiffel Tower in a PDF by Bon Marché. The set will include 321 pieces and will retail for €45. We did a post a couple of months ago that the set will be available January 2014. During the event, there will be a 40,000 piece replica of the Eiffel Tower displayed at Bon Marché Rive Gauche from December 2-14 and pre-orders of the set will be available on November 1st.

LEGO Architecture Marina Bay Sands (21021) Revealed

The next set in the LEGO Architecture series has been revealed on their online survey site, the Marina Bay Sands (21021). Back in August, we reported that the resort in Singapore won the annual LEGO “Vote & Inspire Us” poll and would be the next Architecture set that will be released. The world’s most expensive standalone casino property also features a hotel, a shopping mall, a museum, two theaters, an ice skating rink, and seven celebrity chef restaurants. The Marina Bay Sands will probably be available late this year or early next year.
