LEGO DC Character Encyclopedia: New Edition Coming in 2022 with Exclusive Minifigure

There’s a new LEGO DC book coming out next year called the LEGO DC Character Encyclopedia: New Edition and it will come with an exclusive minifigure. The book doesn’t release until May 3 at a price point of $21.99 but you can pre-order it today on Amazon. The exclusive minifigure is still a mystery at this time but the description of the book may give a clue on who it could be. Usually when the description talks about a character, there’s a high chance that it will be it and for this book, it could be Klarion the Witch Boy. The minifigure won’t be revealed until the book cover is finalized which should be a few months before the release.

The Secrets of LEGO House Now Available

Just released yesterday was one a new book from Chronicle Books called The Secrets of LEGO House. The 160 page book consists of a lot of details about the LEGO House that isn’t really mentioned anywhere else online. It also goes in-depth about the different zones the LEGO House has, yellow for emotions, blue for problem solving, green for social interaction, and red for creativity. There’s also a ton of colored pictures that aren’t found online as well. The book does cost $40 but it does make for a good read and a good coffee table book.

LEGO Harry Potter Wizarding Duels: Potter vs Malfoy Book Set – Pre-Order on Amazon

There’s a new LEGO Harry Potter book set coming out in a few months called Wizarding Duels: Potter vs Malfoy. The book set includes two paperback activity books, a double-sided pop-up featuring different parts of Hogwarts, and minifigures of Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy. The activity books are called Magical Rivals and Gryffindor vs Slytherin which I believe are both new. The minifigures aren’t exclusive but this is another way to get them in their school outfits. The most interesting thing for me is the pop-up insert which has an unique art form that I like although you can’t really put anything on the pop-out sections. LEGO Harry Potter Wizarding Duels: Potter vs Malfoy will be released on September 7 for $14.99 and you can pre-order it today on Amazon.

The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks Campaign Ended with 205% Funding

LEGO’s first venture into the book crowdfunding on Unbound for The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks ended last week very successfully and we now wait for the book to be published. When the campaign ended, it had a 205% funding rate with 3,660 supporters which I bet is more than what LEGO could have imagined. For a quick note, there will be 3,783 names in the back of the book on the supporter list. Now we wait for Daniel Konstanski to finish writing the book and it should be released by Spring 2022.

Skybound Entertainment Announces Partnership for LEGO Comic Books in 2022

Skybound Entertainment has announced that they have entered a new partnership along with AMEET to create LEGO branded comic books with the first one coming in 2022. The partnership will bring LEGO properties into Skybound’s extensive list of comic book series including The Walking Dead, Invincible, and Ultramega. Skybound will announce which LEGO IPs they will be using in the next few months and the comics will be published by Image Comics and Skybound.

There’s no mentioning in press release of any LEGO sets for Skybound’s properties but it does certainly open the door to discussions especially since LEGO has recently ventured into the more adult-oriented 18+ sets.

The exclusive English-language licensed publishing partnership will bring LEGO properties into Skybound’s vast slate of notable comic book series, including THE WALKING DEAD, INVINCIBLE, and ULTRAMEGA.

“As a lifelong fan of LEGO toys and content, nothing brings me greater joy than partnering with AMEET on this iconic brand. One Week Left to Pre-Order The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks

There is exactly one week left to put your pre-order in for The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks written by Daniel Konstanski. In his latest update for the book, he detailed how LEGO was able to provide him with exclusive images to use for the book as well as LEGO going a step further to provide items to photograph for better image quality. It looks like LEGO is fully committed to put out a good book dedicated to AFOLs.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but it might be more in the case of LEGO® sets. Indeed, as several senior members of the LEGO Group’s in-house advertising agency told me, they spend more hours than you can imagine putting together the key images which appear on set boxes. But that is all I can say about that for now so as to not spoil a really great story from The Secret Life of LEGO® Bricks. For our effort, I and the team who are helping make this book a reality realised that being able to show many of the parts and sets I discuss was a necessity. To that end, the LEGO Group gave us permission to not only scour their digital archive but also to request images for use in the book. As I have been writing I concurrently scour the appropriate timeframe or category in the digital archive for pictures to enhance the text. However, it didn’t stop there. In a show of just how committed the LEGO Group is to
