No Character Customization in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga comes out in less than two weeks and TT Games has just put out a statement that may disappoint some fans. TT Games stated that there will not be any character customization in the game but instead you’ll have over 300 characters to choose from.

As we know, character customization was a staple in previous LEGO games as you can create a character with abilities to your liking and use them in game during free roam, however, that won’t be happening in The Skywalker Saga. It may not be a big deal for some but there are fans that love to make their own characters, especially ones that are missing from the game.

Although the game may seem to be a very polished looking game, the public relations in it is terrible. There was nothing but radio silence when it was first announced to a few months ago when it was getting promoted more. We get that there are development changes but if they announced it earlier, maybe people wouldn’t be too disappointed but to say it just only a few weeks away from release is just bad. Maybe we’ll see it in a future update but who knows.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Gameplay Demo Released

Today, the full gameplay demo for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga dropped and we get to see what we can expect from the game when it drops in a few weeks. From the inital looks of it, it’s your typical LEGO game but ramped up ten fold. The visuals look outstanding as it runs on a brand new game engine.

Of course, you’ll still have the LEGO humor as well as puzzle to solve to proceed to the next area. The story will go through all nine films of the Skywalker Saga. The upgrade system is an interesting one as you can customize certain character classes with different abilities.

If you’re still looking to pre-order the Deluxe Edition of the game, unfortunately, it doesn’t look like any retailers are offering it anymore. I’ve heard that pre-orders for physical copies of the Deluxe version were stopped a few months back. Considering pre-orders for it were live back in October 2020, you’ve probably had more than enough time to get it if you wanted it already. The regular version of the game is still widely available but it won’t come with any of the extras like the Character Collection Bundle Packs or the Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk (30625) minifigure polybag.
