LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Cosmic Boy (30604) is a Minifigure Polybag

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Cosmic Boy (30604)

A few weeks ago, we reported that there would be a LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Cosmic Boy (30604) minifigure coming out sometime in the future. It was shown as a loose minifigure and I first thought that it would be part of a character encyclopedia or the LEGO Super Heroes DC Comics – Justice League: Cosmic Clash DVD. Brickset has now showing Cosmic Boy as a minifigure polybag which kind of ruins my theories because the exclusive minifigures found with DK books and LEGO movies aren’t normally contained in polybags. The only other explanation I can think of is that it’s going to be part of a LEGO promotion next year. Also notice the cool Legion of Super Heroes logo on the bottom right. Perhaps LEGO will continue promoting those characters from the team next year as well. I’ll have more info as they become available.

Fingers crossed we get a Saturn Girl! The trio will be complete 😀

Using that logo gives a slight glimmer of hope, indicating that at least SOMEBODY at DC has not forgotten the animated series. Maybe the second season will make it to DVD eventually, and maybe – just maybe – DC would consider publishing another Legion all-ages title.

Pity they aren’t doing a full Legion set. For all of these scenarios and gimmicks, LEGO has yet to really get into locations. They have done the batcave and arkham, but still need to do the hall of justice, the watchtower, the daily planet, Gotham Police Dept., Titans tower, and more.

I never saw the Lightning Lad figure actually released – did it ever turn up? I managed to find the Target cube with Superboy but never caught a hint of one with Lightning Lad, nor have I seen him on eBay or otherwise…

My guess is that the Lightning Lad box will be available in December/January similar to the one with Superboy.

Love the use of the discs.

The part where you say that polybags are not included in movies is untrue. The Target exclusive for the second Hobbit movie had a polybag. Also a few of the video games had polybags.

DK books and LEGO movies. Target had a polybag exclusive pack-in for a regular movie. It you look at the entire line of DK books, LEGO Minifigure Year By Year is the only one that stands out as having non-exclusive minifigs in the cover. There might be one Ninjago minifig that appears elsewhere, but I know all the SW/HP/DC book minifigs are exclusive, as are the two that expand on the CMF line (Toy Soldier and Zombie Skateboarder). And the movies he refers to are the LEGO DC line, which gave us Clark Kent, Batzarro, and the Trickster. While, as I said, a few of these minifigs are not exclusive to the DK books or the LEGO DC movies, he’s right in that none of these minifigs have been released as a standalone polybag.
