Our friends over at PromoBricks has found an image of the January 2017 LEGO Store Calendar. I’ll upload a higher quality of it when it becomes available. Here are the more notable things that will be going on in the month. Not surprisingly, it’s mainly focused on The LEGO Batman Movie as the rest of the wave will be available at the beginning of the month.
December 27-January 15 – Free The LEGO Batman Movie Mini Batwing polybag with purchases of $35 or more.
January 16-31 – FREE LEGO Nexo Knights Knighton Rider polybag with a Nexo Knights purchase.
January 1 – The LEGO Creator Assembly Square (10255) will become available for purchase.
January 3-4 – The VIP Monthly Mini Model Build will be a Narwhal.
January 14 – Winter Igloo Building Event
January 17 & 24 – Technic Tuesday
January 21 & 28 – LEGO Life Meeting
It has been confirmed today by The LEGO Batman Movie director Chris McKay that Billy Dee Williams will be voicing Two-Face in the movie. You may remember that Williams portrayed Harvey Dent in the 1989 Batman movie and now he will be reprising the voice role. You’ll notice in the Arkham Asylum (70912) that the Two-Face minifigure does resemble Williams.
Billy Dee Williams joins an already all-star cast in The LEGO Batman Movie with Will Arnett reprising his Batman role. Ralph Fiennes will be voicing Alfred Pennyworth, Michael Cera as Dick Grayson, Zach Galifianakis as the Joker, Jenny Slate as Harley Quinn, and Rosario Dawson as Catwoman.

LEGO has released more official images of various themes and the more notable ones are for The LEGO Batman Movie. The two sets that have been revealed are Scarecrow Special Delivery (70910) and The Penguin Arctic Roller (70911) which I believe are retail exclusive sets.
The Scarecrow Special Delivery has 204 pieces and includes minifigures of Batman, Security Guard, and Scarecrow. The Penguin Arctic Roller set has 305 pieces and has minifigures of Batman and the Penguin.
I’ll have my review of the Arctic Roller later on tonight when the embargo lifts so stay tuned for that.
A few weeks ago, some official images of the winter 2017 LEGO Star Wars sets came out and one particular set was pretty intriguing. This set was The Phantom (75150) based on the Rebels series and one of the minifigures featured was Grand Admiral Thrawn. The image was pretty hard to see if he had the correct red eyes for him. Now more images have come out and we can now confirm that he does indeed have his red eyes which is a relief for many fans of the character. The one thing that isn’t correct is his insignia of Grand Admiral. The ranking on the minifigure only shows him as Admiral.
There are some new box art images of some more winter 2017 LEGO Star Wars sets coming out of Eurobricks. We’ve already had some of these sets before in the past but the upcoming ones are slightly updated with new minifigures.
Luke’s Landspeeder (75173) – 149 pieces – Includes Ben Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, Tusken Raider
Desert Skiff Escape (75174) – 277 pieces – Boba Fett, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Skiff Guard
A-Wing Starfighter (75175) – 358 pieces – A-Wing Pilot, Rebel Ground Crew, Lando Calrissian.

If you didn’t know, LEGO Worlds is currently on STEAM Early Access but the full release will be available in a few months.
WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT, TT GAMES AND THE LEGO GROUP ANNOUNCE LEGO® WORLDS For PlayStation®4, Xbox One and STEAM
Players Can Create Anything Imaginable and Define Their Own Adventures
In the Ultimate Digital LEGO Bricks Building Experience
Burbank, Calif. – Nov. 29, 2016 – Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO® Group today announced that LEGO® Worlds, a galaxy of imaginative worlds made entirely of digital LEGO bricks where players can explore, discover and create together, will commercially launch on February 21, 2017 for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and STEAM. Developed by TT Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, LEGO Worlds has been in STEAM Early Access since last year allowing players to provide feedback for continual improvements leading up to its official launch.
“In LEGO Worlds, players will go on an exciting journey to become a Master Builder, in an open-world made completely of LEGO-built environments,” said Jonathan Smith, Head of Production, TT Games. “Whether customizing characters, exploring in vehicles, building structures, or discovering an expansive range of items, characters and creatures throughout the worlds, there’s the freedom to create anything imaginable.”
“LEGO Worlds expands our LEGO videogame franchise with a new experience that embodies all the fun of physical LEGO brick building,” said David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “TT Games has created an expansive, digital universe that combines unlimited creativity with the LEGO humor that fans love.”
“LEGO Worlds brings the very essence of LEGO play – building – to the digital world, more than ever before,” said Niels Jørgensen, Vice President, Digital Games for The LEGO Group. “We are excited to bring our physical and digital play models closer together and know it will resonate with our core audience – and engage new ones. We believe LEGO Worlds has the potential to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow through its experience of open-ended creative play.”
In LEGO Worlds, players uncover hidden treasures in environments that range from fun to the fantastical, where worlds come to life with a dizzying variety of vehicles and creatures – from cowboys riding giraffes to vampires scaring Yetis, to steamrollers, racing cars and colossal digging machines. Gamers can embark on a quest to become a Master Builder by helping other LEGO characters along the way – find a sword for a king, protect a farmer from a zombie invasion, or build a home for a caveman. Environments and creations are brought to life in any way fans can imagine, either by building brick by brick, placing down enormous prebuilt LEGO structures, or by using wondrous tools that let you paint and shape the landscape. LEGO Worlds’ online multiplayer functionality allows players to explore each other’s worlds together, create together, and engage in cooperative and competitive play experiences that players can build themselves.
A separate LEGO Agents DLC pack, featuring new characters, vehicles, weapons and more from the Agents range of play materials, will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4 for a limited time.

LEGO has released a press release regarding the 2017 wave of LEGO Speed Champions sets. The set that is referenced is the 2016 Ford GT & 1966 Ford GT40 (75881).
NOVEMBER 29, 2016
Designed to Inspire Tomorrow’s Racing Drivers, Engineers and Designers – Ford’s Le Mans Victories in LEGO® Bricks
• Ford race cars that won 1966 and 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours will be available as part of the exclusive LEGO® Speed Champions range of models
• New kit brings to life iconic Ford GT40 and today’s Ford GT race car. Minifigures, chequered flag and trophy will help to bring famous victories to life again and again
• Designing the exclusive kit was a “dream project” for LEGO design lead Craig Callum, a former car designer who races Fords in his spare time
COLOGNE, Germany, Nov. 29, 2016 – It’s a gift 50 years in the making that could set your child on the path to becoming a racing legend. The iconic Ford GT40 and new Ford GT that won Le Mans 24 Hours in 1966 and 2016 are being brought to life in LEGO® bricks.
The new LEGO Speed Champions set will include both cars as well as racing driver minifigures, a chequered flag and even a trophy to make it easy to recreate those history-making victories.
“Many people in my team grew up with the legend of Ford’s history-making 1966 victory – and experienced the excitement of building and design for the first time through LEGO bricks,” said Dave Pericak, global director, Ford Performance. “This kit is a powerful way to tell our Le Mans story, and will hopefully inspire the race drivers, engineers, and designers of the future.”
Ford won at Le Mans earlier this year after returning to the scene of what was a historic 1-2-3 clean sweep 50 years previously. The LEGO Group worked closely with Ford’s design and licensing teams on every detail of the 1966 winning car, and the new Ford GT race car.
“This was a dream project – with a lot of pressure. The Ford GT40 is one of the most iconic race cars of all time, and the new Ford GT is just incredible,” said Craig Callum, head of design, LEGO Speed Champions. “Designed for children, but with grown-ups fans in mind too, we know these models will be closely scrutinized for authenticity.”
Callum, who in his spare time races a Ford Model A hot-rod, and started out as a designer of full-sized cars, helped develop ten prototypes before the final versions of each model were selected, all created from existing LEGO bricks.
You can watch Callum assemble the new kit in record time here.
