Piano Achieves 10,000 Supporters on LEGO Ideas

The Piano project by Hidaka is the latest project to hit 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The Piano is one of the many Musical Instruments projects that he hopes to add to LEGO’s themes to teach children more about music. Hidaka wants to include a minifigure with the project as well to represent the composer. What’s neat about the project is that it is able to be rebuilt into a mini version using the same pieces.

Although the build is fairly small, it does represent the subject type very well. If it passes the LEGO Review Stage, the Piano will probably be one of the smallest official CUUSOO/Ideas sets that LEGO has produced.

The Piano now joins a jam-packed lineup in the Third 2014 Review Stage which also includes the Avengers Helicarrier, the Labyrinth Marble Maze, the F7A, The Goonies 30th Anniversary Inferno, The Natural History Museum, Lord of the Rings Set: Minas Tirith, and Jurassic Park.

Brick Builders Club December 2014 Box

I recently received the December 2014 Brick Builders Club but didn’t have time to review it due to my abnormal work schedule but it’s still December so let’s see what we got this month.

Brick Builders Club December 2014 Box

The first thing you see when you open up the box is the guaranteed exclusive t-shirt that you get every month. This month’s shirt is a winter based shirt with some minifigures in an ice cube tray with the caption “Chill Out.”

LEGO Year of the Sheep (40148)

LEGO Year of the Sheep (40148)

According to the Lunar Calendar, February 19, 2015 will begin the Year of the Sheep on the Chinese zodiac and to commemorate this event, LEGO will again be releasing a set based on the holiday. The 2015 Year of the Sheep (40148) will include the pieces to create a sheep and is also packaged inside a small red envelope which you can use to give money to others as part of the Chinese tradition.

LEGO did something similiar back in 2013 with the Year of the Snake (10250) but it wasn’t available outside of Asia. It may seem that next year’s set will follow the same pattern.

LEGO Seasonal Valentine’s Day 2015 Set (41020)

LEGO Seasonal Valentine's Day 2015 (40120)

Christmas is over and it’s time to talk about the next major holiday that drives sales here in the US and that is Valentine’s Day. Like this year, it looks like LEGO will be releasing sets based on certain holidays throughout 2015.

For Valentine’s Day, there will be a small vignette set (40120) showing what appears to be a marriage proposal. The set will have 114 pieces and probably retail for $9.99 and it shows a couple at a restaurant with a engagement ring for the female. There is also a small gift box to hold the ring. The set will most likely be available sometime in January at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home.

Update: If you’re near LEGOLAND California in San Diego (Carlsbad), I’ve been told that the set is available at the shop. Thanks Charlie for the heads up.

LEGO Ultra Agents Summer 2015 Set Rumors

Demitri over on Eurobricks is back with more information about LEGO Summer 2015 sets and this time it is for the LEGO Ultra Agents.

The Ultra Agents line is back with a third wave of sets which has a rumored six sets in 2015, three of which have set names provided by demitri. Before we’ve only had vehicles to go with the sets but it looks like this wave could have building playsets to go along with the vehicles. AntiMatter is also back with his villainous schemes while the Ultra Agents are trying to prevent him from succeeding.

LEGO 2015 Sets Arriving at Toys R Us Early

LEGO Disney Princess Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle (41062)

There have been various reports on other sites that some of the new LEGO 2015 sets have started to hit retailers like Target. Toys R Us have also seen some sets hit the shelves early and my store in San Diego (La Mesa) is no exception. Local readers, you get a little scoop of what we have on the shelves.

I came into work today not expecting to stock any new stuff but this was like a late Christmas for me. There were quite a few highly anticipated sets that were waiting for me too stock them. I was so tempted to buy a few of the sets but I’d rather wait and earn VIP points from the LEGO Store on January 1st. If you can’t wait, you may want to check your Toys R Us store to see what they have coming in.

Note: It’s been a couple of hours since I got off work so I’m not sure what has been sold or not.
