The AFOL Poster Subscription Service Releases New Artwork

Interested in LEGO Art? The AFOL Poster Subscription Service from Bricks on the Dollar has begun its mission to bring you original LEGO Artwork every month with their first release, 4980 LEGO Rock Raiders Tunnel Transport by Kate Vinnedge.

Every month a new artist will create distinctly LEGO-themed art in their own style. 11”x17” posters are available from the AFOL Poster Service website. Posters are tube-shipped to their recipients. For only $10 per month you will get the newest poster tube-shipped to you on the 1st of each month. If you want to pick and choose, the posters will be individually available on the 15th of each month for $13 shipped.

Check out the first poster which is available right now. A new poster will be available each month while supplies last. Upcoming themes include Fright Knights, Galaxy Squad, and good old Town. Pick your favorites or sign up for the subscription to never miss a poster!

The LEGO Batman Movie 2-in-1 Super Pack (66546) Now Available in Walmart Stores

The LEGO Batman Movie 2-in-1 Super Pack (66546)

A few weeks ago, we saw a new Walmart exclusive The LEGO Batman Movie 2-in-1 Super Pack (66546) which includes The Joker Balloon Escape (70900) and The Riddler Riddle Racer (70903) as well as a poster. I can now confirm that the set is now available in stores for $44.73 which is a little cheaper than the combined prices of the two sets plus you get a poster that I believe you can’t find anywhere else. You can find the set on a new display that is set up for the movie. You can also find the Collectible Minifigures and The Joker Battle Training (30523) polybag on the display as well.

LEGO Iconic Chess Set (40174) Now Available

LEGO Iconic Chess Set (40174)

One LEGO set that has just been recently released but fell under the radar is the LEGO Iconic Chess Set (40174)icon. This set contains 1450 pieces and retails for $54.99. What’s interesting about this set is that it is a 2-in-1 set which you can also play checkers with.

Use classic LEGO® bricks to build your own chess board and then build all the playing pieces too. This set is ideal to take and play wherever you like, as the pieces store conveniently inside the board. It can also be used to play checkers.

-Includes a buildable chessboard and buildable playing pieces.
-Board opens to store all the playing pieces inside.
-Can also be used to play checkers.
-This set includes over 1,400 pieces.
-Board measures over 10” (26cm) square.

LEGO Architecture Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (21035)

There are now official images of the LEGO Architecture Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (21035) set via Amazon France. The set contains 744 pieces but there’s no word yet on pricing. The Guggenheim Museum has been released before in 2009 but this is an updated version of the set with parts that make the model smoother. There’s also no word on the release date but I’m going to guess March.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean D2C Set (71042) Coming in March (Shanghai)

It looks like we have our first blurry look at the LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean (71042) set which comes from the Shanghai LEGO Store Calendar. If you remember, we were the first site to report on this set last year which supposedly is one of the new pirate ships in the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales movie, possibly the Dying Gull or the Silent Mary, and may retail for $200-$250. The calendar list it’s release for early access for VIPs from March 27-30 but we’ll see if it’s the same when the US calendar is released.
