The LEGO Ninjago Movie Spinjitzu Training Dojo (70606) Review

The LEGO Ninjago Movie comes out in less than two months and I’m kicking off my set reviews with the Spinjitzu Training Dojo (70606). This is the smallest set in the wave coming in at 109 pieces and retailing for $9.99.

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Legends of Tomorrow SDCC 2017 Vixen Review

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Legends of Tomorrow Vixen

On two separate days at San Diego Comic Con 2017, LEGO was giving away to attendees an exclusive LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Legends of Tomorrow Vixen. If you’re not a fan of the show, you may be wondering who this character is. There are actually two versions of the character in the Arrowverse with this one being Mari’s grandmother. Like with previous exclusive SDCC LEGO minifigures, she comes in a clamshell with a backing card.

Vixen wears a dark brown outfit with some tan armor printing. There’s also printing of the Anansi Totem necklace that goes around her neck. The legs also have some more detail printing including the knee armor. Her double-sided head piece is nouget colored with a normal expression on one side and a smirk on the other. Her hair piece is brown with a braid in the back.

The LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Legends of Tomorrow Vixen minifigure is a pretty obscure character for those who aren’t familiar with the show. This also marks the second SDCC minifigure in a row for Legends of Tomorrow joining Atom from last year. Will we continue this trend of seeing more LoT minifigures at SDCC or will we be seeing other DC properties? We shall see in less than a year. Admittedly, Vixen isn’t as popular as the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Deadpool Duck but she was popular enough for people to line up hours before the raffle started for a chance to get her.

LEGO Ninjago Showrunner Responds to Concerns for Season 8

Yesterday was the LEGO Ninjago TV series panel at SDCC 2017 and attendees were able to see a short clip of the Season 8 Sons of Garmadon. While I was live-tweeting, some fans had more questions that were answered at the panel while others were somewhat skeptical of what to expect. Showrunner Tommy Andreasen has taken to Twitter to give a response on some of the feedback. Here’s the transcribed version.

Hi All!

Thank you all for your responses to our season 8 sneak peak, revealed at San Diego Comic Con. Some of you have asked some questions or expressed concerns, so here is a response which hopefully will address most of them.

Season 8 of Ninjago is scheduled to come out in 2018. Though it may not be evident from the opening scene revealed at Comic Con, it is indeed the continuation of the TV series story line. It has been specifically written with a keen eye on what long time fans of the series have expressed desire to know more about.

One of Ninjago’s key strengths has always been it’s ability to change. We want each season to feel unique, and the show has a long history of twisting plots, structure and taking daring chances.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 SDCC 2017 Trailer

The new San Diego Comic Con 2017 trailer for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is now available to watch. It shows Kang the Conqueror creating Chronopolis. In addition to the reveals at SDCC, there were some more characters that I missed while I was at the panel that will be in the game including Surtur, Man-Ape, Wasp, and who appears to be Luis from the Ant-Man movie. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes SDCC 2017 Deadpool Duck Review

It wasn’t announced until Preview Night of San Diego Comic Con 2017 but I have managed to get the exclusive LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Deadpool Duck. He is basically what happens when Deadpool is combined with Howard the Duck which was first introduced in a five issue miniseries at the beginning of the year. The clamshell that Deadpool Duck uses is the same one as before in previous years. The backing is just a two-sided one with the back promoting LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2.

The torso is a new one with updated printing. There are now straps that go around the shoulders and around the back. There’s also some brown pouches around the waist as well. The Deadpool buckle is a little bit larger. The legs are of the short variety as he is a duck. The head gets a makeover which uses the Donald and Daisy head mold from the LEGO Collectible Minifigures Disney Series (71012). The head is now painted with the red and black Deadpool mask with one eye squinting.

Overall, the exclusive SDCC 2017 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Deadpool Duck is a great addition to any collection. Considering Deadpool hasn’t appeared in a set since 2013 with the Wolverine’s Chopper Showdown (6866), any variant of him is a good. Unfortunately for fans who weren’t able to attend SDCC, the only way to possibly get it is having really good friends or on the secondary market. LEGO Ninjago SDCC 2017 Panel Recap

The LEGO Ninjago TV series panel was earlier today at San Diego Comic Con 2017 and there was some new information regarding Season 8. I was also live-tweeting the panel which can check out on Twitter.

The panel consisted of Writers Kevin and Dan Hageman, showrunner Tommy Andreasen, senior creative director Simon Lucas, IP lead Nelson Lamonica, and suprise guest David Shayne. The first thing the panel talked about was last season’s Hands of Time.

LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu SDCC 2017

The first thing the panel talked about was some of the inner workings of the previous season. They showed off some concept art and talked about what the season was about.

They dug deeper into some of the villains who were involved including Sander Saunders, aka Krux, and the Vermillion. Like before, there are some prototypes of the Vermillion.

Next up is more concept art for the Kai and Nya’s Fusion Dragon. They explained that they wanted to make it look more organic.

Finally, there was the big question of where Wu is. We’ll find out more in Season 8. One cool thing that was touched on was some kids at last year’s panel gave some suggestions on how Zane got his powers and the Hagemans took those suggestions and we will be seeing them next season.
