Back in 2015, LEGO released their first large scale Marvel set with The SHIELD Helicarrier (76042) and this year they have revisited the set with the updated S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier (76354). This set has 3,057 pieces and retails for $399.99 which is the second most expensive LEGO Marvel set ever produced.

Minifigures
There are six minifigures in the set, Winter Soldier, Captain America, Phil Coulson, Maria Hill, Hawkeye, and Nick Fury.
The Winter Soldier has printing from his first appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He has a mostly black outfit with some silver accents on the torso and legs. The left arm is his silver robotic one with the red star. His double-sided head shows him with dark eyes on one side and his mask on on the other.

Captain America’s uniform is also from The Winter Soldier where he has more of a blue outfit with the silver star and stripes on the torso front and arms. The back of the torso has printing of the harness for his shield. The legs are dual molded for his brown boots. His double-sided head shows him with a smile on one side and him having a chin strap for his helmet. He also has a separate hair piece as well. His accessory is the blue and silver stealth shield.

Phil Coulson has on his usual black suit with his name badge clipped on. His double-sided shows him with a monoaural headset on one side and him wearing sunglasses on the other. His accessory is his briefcase.

Maria Hill has on the blue uniform as seen from her appearance on the helicarrier from the Age of Ultron. The arms do have some printing of the SHIELD logo. Her double-sided head shows her with a smile on one side and a stern look on the other with both also having her wearing the monoaural headset.

Hawkeye is wearing the all black outfit when he’s mind controlled by Loki. His double-sided head shows him with a smile on one side and the mind controlled blue eyes on the other. His accessories include his bow and arrow along with his quiver.

Lastly we have Nick Fury who is in his usual black outfit with the black trenchcoat. His single-sided head shows him with the patch over his left eye.

Build
There are two parts to the overall build. First we’ll look at the display stand which has two posts to put underneath the helicarrier. At the front of the stand, there’s a printed sign for the LEGO Marvel Helicarrier.

There are also some transparent posts to attach the minifigures to for some dynamic posing. There are two on each side of the stand and two right above the sign.

On to the helicarrier, it is a mini-scale version of the ship. At the top, we have runway which spans three fourths the length of the ship with the other half of it having a different angle and raised up from the lower one.

When you pull off the lower runway, it reveals a lot of the interior details. One thing is the sticker comic of Captain America (Vol. 5) #11 which is the origin story of the Winter Soldier.

Behind it is a microscale version of the helicarrier’s bridge. There are also various studs of Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and the Avengers including a one for a LEGO design team intern who uses a wheelchair.

Behind the bridge is the detention center for Loki with the removeable detention pod.

Back on to the deck, there are some mini-builds of some of the vehicles and equipment on the sides of the runway like the mini Quinjets. At the back, we have the control tower that uses a lot of greebling.

For the engines, I think they’re the most repetitive part of the whole build as you have to create four of them. The rear left one is the one damaged during Loki’s attack of the Helicarrier as it is engulfed in flames and if you look closely, you can see Iron Man inside starting the propellers again to prevent the ship from crashing.

At the back of the Helicarrier, there is a larger Quinjet build that connects to the rear left engine area.

On the middle back, there’s a another mini Quinjet that is getting destroyed by a mini Hulk after he transformed.

After the Helicarrier is built, you can attach it to the display stand using the two small posts. From the outside, it seems that the stand is a little small for the size of the ship and its weight but somehow it works, as long as you don’t accidentally bump into it.

Results
Overall, the LEGO Marvel S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier (76354) is a mighty impressive set that is an upgrade to the 2015 version. Is it worth the $400 price tag, I don’t think so, especially it having only six minifigures which is one more than its predecessor and no nanofigures. The design is more smoothed out with a lot less exposed studs on the outside. Even with 61 more pieces, we still lose out on two mini Quinjets and even the minifigure stand.

Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
