LEGO has officially announced that LEGO account integration will be coming to BrickLink later this year. When LEGO acquired BrickLink in 2020, they’ve been trying to improve the site and the LEGO account integration will create a single sign-in experience for both LEGO.com and BrickLink.com. If you have a LEGO account, you will be able to merge it with your BrickLink account.

This year marks an incredible milestone as we celebrate 25 years of BrickLink®! Since joining the LEGO® Group in 2020, we’ve been working hard to make the platform even better, more enjoyable, and ready for an exciting future.

Now, it’s time for the next big step: LEGO Account integration is coming to BrickLink in autumn 2025.

What does LEGO® Account integration mean?

LEGO Account integration will create a single sign-in experience for both LEGO.com and BrickLink.com.

If you already have a LEGO Account, you’ll soon be able to merge it with your BrickLink account. If you don’t have one yet, you’ll need to create one and then merge it with your BrickLink account to keep using all your favorite BrickLink features.

In markets where the LEGO Group offers the LEGO Insiders program, a LEGO Account is created as part of signing up for LEGO Insiders.

What’s changing?

While some things on BrickLink will change, your core experience will remain the same. LEGO Account integration will influence the following areas of your BrickLink experience:

• ID card pics
• Usernames and store names
• Privacy Policy
• Terms of Service

We’ll walk you through the details when it’s time for you to do something, but for now, here’s what you need to know:

ID card pics

All custom ID card pics will be removed just before the integration and replaced with a standard image. New profile images—called avatars—will be available when you integrate your accounts. These avatars will consist of preset images featuring LEGO minifigures and background colors, including updated versions of classic BrickLink profile pictures.

If you love your current ID card pic and want to save it, be sure to download it before autumn 2025. You’ll be able to download your custom ID card pic starting later this week.

Usernames and store names

Eventually, your LEGO Account nickname will become your public username on BrickLink. This change will not happen in autumn 2025 with LEGO Account integration but will happen in the months after the integration.

If your current username or store name doesn’t meet our guidelines for LEGO Account nicknames, we recommend updating it as soon as possible to secure your preferred name.

Privacy Policy and Terms of Service changes

LEGO System A/S will become a data controller for most of the activities and data processing on BrickLink, and our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service will be updated accordingly. We’ll send all BrickLink members more info closer to the integration, including links to the new Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

We’re excited about what’s ahead and grateful to have you along for the ride. While some things are changing, our commitment to our members and community remains as strong as ever, and we look forward to elevating your BrickLink experience.

As we take this next step together, know that our team is here to support you in making this transition as smooth as possible.

Thank you for making the BrickLink community so special and stay tuned for more updates, coming this summer.

FAQ

What is a LEGO® Account?

A LEGO Account is your sign-in for all LEGO online experiences. In most regions, this account is created when you sign up for the LEGO Insiders program.

Why are you integrating BrickLink accounts with LEGO Accounts?

Our mission is to make buying, selling, designing, and connecting on BrickLink as fun and rewarding as possible.

As part of this work, we’re bringing BrickLink accounts and LEGO Accounts together in one system. This means you’ll be able to easily switch between LEGO online experiences and keep all your information in one place.

We’ve made sure that the transition will be as smooth and easy as possible for all buyers, sellers, and designers on BrickLink.

When are you integrating BrickLink accounts with LEGO Accounts?

We’re hoping to roll out the new system in autumn 2025.

We’ll be sharing all the info you need and all relevant dates during the summer. So, watch this space!

BrickLink previously communicated about this change in 2022. Is that information still relevant?

Yes, but please use our new Help Page to get all the latest info – we’ll be keeping the page up to date as well as sending out emails as we introduce the new system. You can find our latest Help Page here: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2670.

How will the integration of BrickLink and LEGO Accounts affect me?

Firstly, you’ll be asked to accept our revised Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We’ll send you an email as soon as they’re ready for you to accept.

Secondly, we’ll be changing the way your display name is shown on BrickLink.com. This change will not take place in autumn 2025 with LEGO Account integration but will happen in the future. After the change, the name shown on your BrickLink profile will be your LEGO Account nickname, not your BrickLink username.

Do I have to change my BrickLink ID card pic?

When we bring the account systems together, all ID card photos will be deleted automatically and replaced with a generic image. If you love your current ID card pic and want to save it, be sure to download it before autumn 2025. You’ll be able to download your custom ID card pic starting later this week.

New profile photos, called avatars, will be available after you integrate your accounts. These avatars will consist of preset images featuring LEGO minifigures and background colors, including updated versions of classic BrickLink profile pictures.

How do I read more about the changes to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy?

We’ll be sharing more info about the changes to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy this summer.

What happens to my BrickLink username when I integrate my accounts?

When the integration begins this autumn, your BrickLink username won’t change right away, but it will eventually be replaced by the nickname you have on your LEGO Account.

If you’d like to keep using your current name for your profile, please sign in to your LEGO Account (or create one, if you haven’t already) and change your nickname to the name you’d like to use on BrickLink.

Make sure that your BrickLink username or store name doesn’t go against our guidelines for LEGO nicknames (you can find them below). If they do, we recommend changing them ahead of time since these names will be moderated against the nickname guidelines in the future.

How do I know if my BrickLink username and/or store name doesn’t follow the LEGO Account nickname guidelines?

The LEGO Group created a set of rules that apply to all our websites and apps. It’s important to us that we live up to our values, and that all LEGO fans who visit us feel welcome and get the best possible experience.

The most important rule is that a nickname can’t include the word “LEGO,” or any other trademarks owned by the LEGO Group. Since “LEGO” is a protected term, it can’t be used commercially by individuals, communities, or organizations.

We want everyone to feel welcome and safe, so nicknames that contain upsetting, offensive, or unpleasant words aren’t allowed. If your nickname references religion, politics, or cultural topics, it may be rejected. Our goal is to create a space where everyone can share their LEGO creations, find inspiration, and connect with fellow fans.

Here’s the full list of guidelines:

• A nickname must be between 4-25 characters in length
• A nickname can contain both upper- and lower-case letters
• A nickname can be a mix of characters and numbers
• A nickname can include a maximum of 4 numbers
• A nickname can only include the following special signs: ‘.’ and/or ‘-‘ and/or ‘_’
• A nickname can include spaces, but not two or more consecutive spaces
• A nickname can’t contain the LEGO word including any variations making it look like the name indicates an individual representing the LEGO Group
• A nickname can’t contain a LEGO franchise that is a trademark owned by the LEGO Group
• A nickname can’t contain a name from another IP not owned by the LEGO Group
• A nickname can’t contain Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
• A nickname can’t contain a reference to specific geographical locations or sports clubs that could potentially reveal identifiable information
• A nickname can’t contain an email reference
• A nickname can’t contain references to other social platforms
• A nickname must adhere to the standard LEGO moderation guidelines including but not limited to political or religious topics, drugs and alcohol, weapon references, hate speech, profanities, violence, or abusive language.

How do I reserve my BrickLink username in the LEGO Account nickname system?

To update your LEGO nickname, please follow these steps:

1. Follow this link to your LEGO Account: https://identity.lego.com/en-US/profile?returnUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bricklink.com%2F&clientid=0fd7ca3b-3a33-48e3-a747-

2. Click the “Edit” icon next to your avatar.

3. Enter your nickname.

4. Click “Submit” and wait a few seconds for your nickname to be approved.

What if my preferred LEGO nickname is already taken? What do I do?

If the nickname you’ve entered gets rejected or is already being used by someone else, then you’ll need to choose a different one. We know this can be disappointing, especially if it’s a name you’ve been using on BrickLink for a long time. You can make small tweaks to your nickname so your network can still recognize you.

Can LEGO nicknames be changed?

Absolutely! Once a LEGO nickname has been approved by our moderators, it’s locked for a period of 30 days — but after that, you can change it again if you’d like to.

You might get a randomly selected nickname when you first create your LEGO Account, but you can change it right away.

What happens if I don’t integrate my BrickLink account and LEGO Account?

You’ll have a specific time period to integrate your accounts. If your BrickLink account and LEGO Account aren’t integrated during this time, you won’t be able to sign in to BrickLink. You’ll only be able to use or view areas of the platform that are available to non-signed in users.
