Round 2 of the BrickLink Designer Program is set to begin crowdfunding in exactly a week but there has been a change to a project that you could’ve supported. Brickwest Studios was set to be part of the round 2 lineup but due to the tragedy on the Rust movie set a few weeks ago, BrickLink has decided to move it to Round 3 instead out of respect to everyone affected. Taking its place is Venetian Houses which will be selling for $289.99/€244.99. You can read BrickLink’s official statement below.

As you might have heard, there has been a recent tragic incident on the movie set of Rust. Due to this tragedy, we have decided to move Brick West Studios to Round 3 and move Venetian Houses in to Round 2 to take its place.

We are doing this out of respect for people affected by the recent tragedy on the movie set of Rust. We didn’t want to draw any unintended and inappropriate association between the fan design and the tragedy at this difficult time.

Venetian Houses will sell for USD 289.99/ EUR 244,99.

We communicated this to the fan designers affected by this last week. I want to say a warm thank you to them for their understanding!

The LEGO Emergency Box by SzegoBalint16 is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The build consists of 101 pieces and the centerpiece here is the brick separator.

LEGO has announced the winner of the LEGO Ideas/Chronicle Books Puzzle fan vote for the in which the winning design will become an official puzzle that you can purchase in the near future. Not surprisingly, it was the Minifigure Logo by aido_k which had 1,402 votes. LEGO has also released a rendering of what the packaging will look like and it will be called the Minifigure Space Mission. There’s no word yet on what the pricing for the 1,000 piece puzzle will cost at this time but they did say it will be available in May 2022.

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) by tonysmyuncle is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The build is based on the largest space telescope the be launched by NASA later this year. It includes 18 moveable segments that replicates the JWST’s mirrors.

It has taken a while but the next LEGO Ideas to be released is Home Alone (21330). Releasing on November 1, the set has 3,957 pieces and will retail for $249.99.

Box

The box is very big as it contains bags numbered to 24. Half of those bags are packaged inside an inner box that also includes the instruction booklet and two sticker sheets.

Instructions

As with all other LEGO Ideas instructions, the front of it gives a little insight on the set with some of the play features. It also gives an interview with fan designer Alex Storozhuk who’s original project hit the goal of 10,000 supporters in January 2020. There are also short experts from the LEGO designers as well.

Minifigures

There are five minifigures that are in the set, Kevin, Kate, Harry, Marv, and Marley. Kevin is in this red sweater with tan khakis. He has a double-sided head with a smile on one side and his iconic scared look on the other. He can either use the tan hairpiece or the gray beanie. He has a bowl of ice cream as an accessory.

Kate has on a brown outfit which I assume is the suit that she wears in the opening scene from the movie although the coloring is off. She has a double-sided head showing a smile on one side and a screaming expression on the other.
