LEGO Ideas LEGO House Building Contest Winners Announced

A few days ago, LEGO announced the grand prize and runner up winners of the building contest that puts their creations in the LEGO House for an entire year. There are three grand prize winners for each category and 66 runner up winners who will have their creations on display. Below are just a few of the builds.

Chronicle Books Puzzle Fan Vote on LEGO Ideas

We all know that Chronicle Books does a lot of LEGO puzzles and there is a new fan vote on LEGO Ideas for a theme for an upcoming puzzle product. Chronicle Books will be doing a 1,000 piece puzzle and they need you to submit entries that you think could be good enough to be on an upcoming product. You can choose from toy photography, brick-built creations, or digital art but first you’ll need to vote for the theme that it will be for which include:

• Nature
• Patterns
• Architecture
• Animals and creatures
• Travel
• Tech
• Space/Astronomy
• Retro
• Interior/Home Decor

The deadline to submit your vote will be June 1 at 4am EST.

LEGO Ideas Medieval Tavern Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Medieval Tavern by LEt.sGO is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The tavern contains 2,946 pieces and has three buildings, each with their own details, and it also proposes 10 minifigures.

The project now joins Imperial Island Fort, Movie Set, Lifeguard’s Shack, A-Frame Cabin, Spaceballs, The Costume Store, and Boston Dynamics Spot 1:4 Scale Motorized Model as the ones to reach the Second 2021 Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas Boston Dynamics Spot 1:4 Scale Motorized Model Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Boston Dynamics Spot 1:4 Scale Motorized Model by WalkCrawlRun is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The build is based on the virally seen robot that uses Technic Power Functions to operate and is a good STEM project.

The project now joins Imperial Island Fort, Movie Set, Lifeguard’s Shack, A-Frame Cabin, Spaceballs, and The Costume Store as the ones to reach the Second 2021 Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas Your Friendly Neighborhood Comic Book Hero Contest

LEGO has kicked off a new Spider-Man comic book contest over on LEGO Ideas and there are some awesome prizes to be won. LEGO wants you to build or draw a comic book cover that is Spider-Man related to celebrate the release of the Daily Bugle (76178). The cover should be an original design and not a recreation of an existing comic book cover and it should include Spider-Man/Peter Parker/Miles Morales and other Spider-Man related characters.

On to the prizes, two Grand Prize winners will be chosen, one for the brick-built cover and one for the drawn.

• 76199 LEGO Super Heroes Carnage
• Spider-Man Premium Format™ Figure by Sideshow

LEGO FRIENDS Mug Promotion Starting Soon?

There’s a new LEGO ad on Instagram that I came across that shows there will be a new LEGO Friends Coffee Mug promotion starting soon on the LEGO Shop. It says that you can get the mug with a purchase of the LEGO Ideas Central Perk (21319) but it doesn’t seem like the promo hasn’t started yet online.

The promotion is very interesting since many people already have the Central Perk and since The Friends Apartment (10292) just dropped for VIPs, why didn’t LEGO do it for that instead. I’m thinking that LEGO is banking on people purchasing both sets since there’s a big Friends fandom.

BrickLink Designer Program Extended with More Crowdfunding Rounds

BrickLink has recently updated their timeline to give designers more time to refine their projects to be able to reach the crowdfunding stage. The update changes it from one crowdfunding round to three rounds with the first one starting in July, with following rounds in September and November. Each round will have eight to ten projects that will be chosen on feasibility and part availability and five projects will be crowdfunded with a total of 15 that you will be able to purchase.
