LEGO October 2020 Double VIP Point Set

It’s a new month and that means there is a new double VIP point set that you can get on the LEGO Shop which is the LEGO Technic Concrete Mixer Truck (42112). It retails for $119.99 and you can get 1,560 points for it. Note that it is only one set that qualifies for double points for October which is strange since we’ve been getting two sets every month for a while now. Either way, it’s a decent set for the price considering it’s a Technic set which tends to be a little more expensive side.

LEGO Powered Up Shopping Limits Increased

If you’ve been shopping for the LEGO Powered Up parts, you may have noticed that there were limits of 2 or 3 that you can purchase. This was an issue because more complex builds may need more parts than that. LEGO has listened and they have now increased the Powered Up parts to five. Although there is still the “lifetime purchase limit,” that will be addressed in the future of when you can order them again.

For the past few weeks I have been working with Retail, Consumer Services and our Order Verification Team to stress the need to examine the limits on certain products and the current limit time frame. Your voices are heard and we recognize that there are certain items where the need to purchase additional motors or hubs is critical. We are also in a situation where production is limited due to the virus.

There are concerns around increasing the limits on certain products that have long lead times. Powered elements are a very good example of an item with a significant lead time. If we go back to 2016 when 10254 The Holiday Train was released train motors, HUBs and remotes sold out prior to November and were out of stock for over 6 months. This was a very challenging time for everyone as you could not power the train or any other product you just received. Hence the need for limits.

While we do not have any information to share on the purchase limit time frame, we can share that

LEGO Releases Final Statement Regarding LEGO Technic Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey (42113) Cancellation

LEGO has released their final statement regarding the cancellation of the LEGO Technic Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey (42113) on the LAN. It didn’t change much from the previous announcement although there have been some functionality issues regarding the gears during the reviews of the set. LEGO said that did not factor into the cancellation.

On another note, LEGO is discussing with BrickLink to have the Osprey listed in the catalog but will be not listed for sale. This is purely to keep the database updated as much as possible. More details of this will be shared later on.

The decision not to launch the LEGO Technic V-22 Osprey was made solely due to the fact that the set breached our policy of not creating real military vehicles. There were no other factors that influenced the decision in any way.

This is just a quick update to say we are discussing with Bricklink about having 42113 included in the catalog but not listed for sale. It should be noted that Las Vegas (Early Version with Mandalay Bay Hotel) was only added to the catalog after 2+ years had passed, so we might not be able to add 42113 immediately. We will share more details once we have aligned with the Bricklink team.
