LEGO 2018 Holiday Shopping Recommendations

There’s less than three weeks left in the holiday shopping season and now is a good time for me to release my 2018 LEGO shopping recommendations as I’ve had some good feedback for them. Like with previous years, I’ll be categorizing this year’s LEGO sets into various price point groups. Note that some of these sets are currently on sale on Amazon.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Outrider Dropship Attack (76101) – $14.99

With the second Avengers: Infinity War movie coming out in a few months, why not give kids a head start on it with the Outrider Dropship Attack. For a smaller set, it does include a lot of minifigures including Captain America, Black Widow, and two Outriders.

LEGO Friends Service & Care Truck (41348) – $19.99

The LEGO Friends summer theme was go-kart related this year and one of the cooler looking budget-friendly sets was the Service & Care Truck as it includes two vehicles and an Olivia minidoll.

LEGO Wizarding World Grindelwald’s Escape (75951) – $19.99

With Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald just released in theaters, kids may enjoy a set from one of the scenes from the movie which includes exclusive minifigures of Gellert Grindelwald and Seraphina Picquery.

LEGO January 2019 Store Calendar Promotions & Events

LEGO has changed their layout on where we used to get the PDFs of the LEGO Store Calendars so for now, there’s no way to see the next month’s calendar if you don’t have a store nearby. I went to my store yesterday to get a copy of the January 2019 LEGO Store Calendar and it looks like we’re not missing out on much. Below are some of the promotions and events that will be going on next month.

January 1: The new LEGO Overwatch sets will be available for purchase along with a ton of other sets from various themes.

January 1: Double VIP Points on select sets at vip.lego.com.

January 8-9: VIP Monthly Mini Model Build is a Plane.

January 19 & 26: LEGO Life Meeting

January 21: Minifigure Swap Monday

January 23: LEGO Overwatch Play Event. The details of the event will become available on December 15. Sign ups for the event start on January 1.

LEGO December 2018 Promotions Live on Shop@Home

The December 2018 promotions are now live on LEGO Shop@Home. The main promotion is the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Carousel (40293) with purchases of $99 or more. I’ve already done a review of the set so you can check it out if you like.

For the Double VIP Point sets, they are the LEGO DUPLO Farm Adventures (10869) and the LEGO DUPLO Large Playground Brick Box (10864).

The LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader’s Castle (75251) is now available for purchase and you can get the free Darth Vader Pod (5005376) which is last year’s promo item but still cool if you haven’t gotten it yet.

In stores only from December 1-23, you can get a free Parrot Mailer with purchases of $10 or more. Images of what it is will come in an email blast some time in the next day or so.

Upcoming LEGO December 2018 Unannounced Promotions

LEGO Jurassic World Bricktober 2018 (5005255)

The December 2018 LEGO Store Calendar has been released for a while now and the promotions have been somewhat limited but I’ve gotten news on some unannounced promotions for the month. According to my source, there will be three gift-with-purchase promos which include:

December 1-23: – Free Parrot Mailer with purchases of $10 or more, in-store only.
December 1-31: – Free LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Pod (5005376) with purchase of Darth Vader’s Castle (75251).
December 14-16: Free LEGO Jurasic World Bricktober (5005255) set with purchases of $99 or more.

LEGO may decide to send out an email blast or post on social media about these promos as we get closer to December but keep an eye out on Shop@Home if you’re looking to get some of them. No word on whether they will be both in-store and online at this time but I assume they will be.

Update: The Parrot Mailer will be in-store only.
Update 2: LEGO Brand Stores will have limited quantities of the Jurassic World Bricktober set. The email blast for the promotions is scheduled to go out on December 1.

LEGO Amazon Cyber Monday 2018 Sales

Amazon has kicked off their Cyber Monday sales and there are a ton of LEGO sets that are discounted upwards of 30% and more. Some of the more notable ones include the LEGO Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS for $206.93 and the LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) for $78.74 with frustration-free packaging.

It is now priced at $48.99 and it is the last day to combine the deal with the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Gift Box (40292) promotion. One thing to note is that Amazon has LEGO one-upped as they have the set on sale for $40.99 which is 41% off but you don’t get the VIP points or a chance at the gift set.
