So are Pearl Light Gray and Flat Gold no longer used? Are Flat Silver and Metallic Silver the same thing now (Silver Metallic)? The only other similar colors are Med. Stone Gray and Dark Stone Gray, which I assume are Light and Dark Bluish Gray.
*Flat Dark Gold
Bricklink’s Pearl Light Gray refers to a couple different colors: 131 Silver and 296 Cool Silver. 131 Silver was the original “Pearl Light Gray” color AND the original “Flat Silver” color (which it was categorized as on BrickLink depends mostly on what material it was molded in, as its shade was very inconsistent). It was briefly replaced by 296 Cool Silver (which is slightly lighter) after 2005, but came back in 2007. It was permanently replaced by 315 Silver Metallic (the modern-day “Flat Silver”) between 2010 and 2011.
Bricklink’s Metallic Silver refers to a few colors (298 Cool Silver, Drum Lacquered, 336 Silver Ink, and also any pre-2006 parts with silver lacquer or paint). 336 Silver Ink is still current, but “chrome”, “metallic”, and “glitter” colors are not included on this chart since it only includes actual plastic colors LEGO uses, not surface treatments or glitter that they mix in.
BrickLink’s Flat Dark Gold is officially named 147 Sand Yellow Metallic. It was discontinued after 2005, replaced with 297 Warm Gold.

Too many too similar Blues, not enough Reds.
Come TLG, bust out Sand Red again, some kind of Brick Red at least?
