
Two years ago, The LEGO Group announced that they will be moving their North American headquarters from Enfield to Boston and they have officially opening it yesterday. Just a short ways from Fenway Field, the new headquarters will be an innovative space for over 800 employees.
The LEGO Group officially opens new world-class Boston Hub

• The company made a $5 million philanthropic commitment over two years to bring play to more local children.Boston, MA, USA, May 15, 2025: Today, the LEGO Group officially opened its new state-of-the-art office at the Lyrik, 1001 Boylston Street, which will be the company’s new US Hub and support its ongoing commitment to reaching more children across the US with LEGO® play.
Located in Boston’s Back Bay, the new location will draw from the area’s deep talent pool and be home to a team that will grow to over 800 colleagues responsible for driving the LEGO Group’s long-term growth ambitions in the US and the broader Americas region.

Spanning more than 157,000 square feet over six floors, the office design also supports wellbeing, accessibility and sustainability.
The space is LEED Gold and WELL Gold certified and features over 660 workstations, complimentary gym access, parents’ rooms and flexible wellness areas for employees to engage in activities like meditation, prayer and relaxation. Playful common spaces, sky terraces and 90+ meeting spaces support team connection and collaborative working, and provide a creative, innovative workplace with capacity for continued growth.
The office’s opening was attended by Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and the Danish Ambassador to the US Jesper Møller Sørensen. National and local business, community and design partners also joined the LEGO Group Chief Executive Officer Niels B. Christiansen, the LEGO Group Chief Commercial Officer Colette Burke and the LEGO Group Senior Vice President and Boston Program Lead Skip Kodak at the ribbon cutting.
Bringing the power of play to more children in Boston
At the opening ceremony, the company reinforced its commitment to local children by announcing a $5 million philanthropic commitment over two years to increase access to play across the city.
Colette Burke, Chief Commercial Officer at the LEGO Group, commented: “We have a long legacy of working with innovative Boston-based research and charitable partners to increase access to play for children here and around the world. We are proud that through this $5 million charitable commitment we will support partners who share our vision of leveraging the power of play to ignite children’s creativity and make a positive impact in their lives.”
Over the next two years the LEGO Group will:
• Partner with the Boston Public Library (BPL) to fund playful learning experiences for children aged birth-13 at the Central Library and 25 neighborhood branches across the city.
• Pilot a playful parenting resource for families welcoming babies born in Boston.
• Build on existing partnerships to expand their free playful learning programs.This support builds on the LEGO Group’s ongoing commitment to children in Boston. As part of the LEGO® Playful Learning Museum Network, the company has partnered with the Boston Children’s Museum since 2021 and the Museum of Science since 2023. LEGO Group employees have supported play-based activities in the area as volunteers since the company first opened the LEGO Education office in 2015.
On June 11, 2025, the LEGO Group will help put Boston in play mode with its World Play Day celebration taking place on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. World Play Day is how the LEGO Group recognizes the United Nations’ International Day of Play, which launched in 2024. Learn more here.
Expanding US footprint
Today’s opening marks the latest milestone in the LEGO Group’s investment in the United States. The company will open a factory and regional distribution centre in Virginia in 2027, where it will employ around 2,000 people.
The company also has Hubs in Copenhagen, Singapore, Shanghai and London, 37 sales offices and six factories globally, employing over 31,000 people around the world.
