Man, I was on the edge about this set before but now I have to get this!!! Not quite sure why they kept the same DoJ superman figure when they could have at least added dual molded legs like the Sky High battle set instead of this figure which looks so plain and basic next to the other figures.

The dual-molded legs were only available in Sky High Battle, which might be out of production by now. If it is, that means it would cost more in terms of the part budget to include them in this set, because they’d have to revive a retired element. I’m still not sure why they didn’t include dual-molded Superman legs in Clash of the Heroes (the part was already being made for the very same wave of sets, and regular DoJ Batman got dual-molded legs in both of the larger sets), but here it does actually make a bit more sense. Though, frankly, I think they needed dark-red boots to look more accurate to the movie. Maybe even a dark-red cape.

As for changes, if the outfit hasn’t really changed since the previous appearance, it seems silly to keep churning out slight variants of the same minifig just to sell more sets. Even SW keeps minifig designs around for a few years before giving them an eventual refresh. If I’m not mistaken, Wonder Woman is the same as her DoJ version, too, down to her shield and (still the wrong) sword. Seriously, she should be wielding Sting, which looks a lot closer to the sword she had in DoJ.

These sets are boring. We get one set of Atlantis ruins with no real attraction apart from a Ronan minifigure, and two sets that are practically all Batman. I will pass on all of these.

Batman’s the only one who really specializes in, you know, things. The lone Wonder Woman set barely has anything to do with the movie because if they wanted to be honest, it’d be like a SW battle pack with minifigs of all the characters in the DoJ photo, and a much smaller and very different looking Ares. MoS only did okay because the Kryptonians arrived with a variety of spacecraft, and the military got involved. DoJ had an armed helicopter that I seriously don’t remember being in the movie, and a total lack of a key villain. So, you can either totally make stuff up, limit your “sets” to minifig packs, not do any sets altogether, or work with the Batcraft that are inevitably going to be concocted for each new movie.

Good point, but I’m guessing there will be some fairly unique things in the film they could have built instead, such as a Darkside/Apocolypse ship. I also wanted to point out that I don’t think the idea of an Atlantis set is bad, it just needed to be a little more advanced in terms of build technique.

They use Boomtubes mostly. Not really conducive to a LEGO model, unless built into the side of a structure. And yes, there probably will be some unique things in this film, but the various Batcraft are included amongst them. If the past is any indication, those will also be the more popular things in any movie that features Batman.

Aw c’mon, there has to be something, right?! xD

Make a Wonder Woman plane, or a treadmill, or a Watchtower(kidding, kidding). JUST MAKE SOMETHING BETTER THAN BATMAN!!! xD

Welp, I’m going bankrupt. Why do all the amazing large sets have to be out this year?

Does anyone else find it funny that this is Jason Mamoa’s second time in Atlantis?
