A few days ago, I posted the October 2016 Store Calendar which I’ve updated with higher quality scans as well as the back page for it. One of the things that I want to feature on it is the FREE exclusive Holiday Countdown Calendar (40222) with purchases of $99 or more from October 1-25, while supplies last. The set is pretty much another advent calendar which contains 250 pieces and contains 24 different builds including a train, plane, Christmas tree, snowman, reindeer, candy cane, dog, fireplace mantle, and more.
This Holiday Countdown Calendar (40222) is a nice change to the usual LEGO Star Wars, City, and Friends Advent Calendars which are starting to be more of the same each year. The set will be available for North America starting in October and I’m not sure if Europe and other countries will be getting the promo so you’ll have to check your own stores to see what they have available then.

I’m starting to think that Lego needs to desperately redo the Advent Calendars. Unfortunately, they’re huge annual sellers, so they’re not likely to change the pattern. But it’d be nice if we could get, say, a DC Super Heroes or Ninjago calendar for once.
There may be licensing issues with Super Heroes, or the possibility of cannibalized sales (in fact, for DC Super Heroes, I would personally say the entire advent calendar would have to consist of minifigures, or just Batman vehicles, since the widespread appeal of DC is in the characters, at least compared with Star Wars, which has more widely known vehicles, weapons/accessories, and landscapes).
And while Ninjago is probably LEGO’s strongest original IP, they may still consider the potential market to be too small to warrant creating an entire advent calendar for. The trifecta of City, Friends, and Star Wars covers a very large demographic with family friendly themes.
yes i agree
Sign me up for Santa Clause Batman!
It does not seem to contain any mini figures though.
