LEGO has finally released the designer video for the LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle (21313) which is set to be released later this week. In the video LEGO designer Thiago Catarino talks about how he went from Jacob Sadovich’s original design on the LEGO Ideas project to the official set. Graphic designer Mark Tranter also chimes in on some of the printed pieces that is used on the set. We’ll have our review of the Ship in a Bottle (21313) up on February 1 so stay tuned for that.

Why is it the Lego Designer’s initials and not the originators? seriously!

Yeah, I thought the same thing.
Did LEGO completely forget how to make these Designer Videos? They were so good up until about a year ago, and now they’re almost completely focused on the person who designed the set rather than the set itself. What happened to discussions of the new elements rather than a few seconds showing them off? What happened to showing each part of the set individually and talking about it? (Which was completely missing from the Downtown Diner video.) What happened to focusing on the LEGO itself rather than the uncharismatic, boring person who half-designed the set?
Also, this guy’s an idiot for his self-congratulatory comments about one of the worst mini LEGO ships ever designed.
