LEGO news has been fairly quiet the past few days but there’s some news on some rumored LEGO video games that is reported to be coming out. As we all know, LEGO Dimensions was officially cancelled late last year and this usually means that some of the employees move on to other new projects. According to ComicBook.com, there is more fuel to add to rumors of the LEGO Incredibles 2 Video Game as they state it is the next LEGO video game to be coming out. We already know that there are some LEGO Incredibles 2 sets that will be coming out later this year so a video game wouldn’t be a huge surprise but it’s nice to have another source report on it. The Incredibles 2 will be in theaters on June 15, 2018 so we can expect the game to release at the same time. This will also mark the first time a Pixar property will become a LEGO game.
Also in the same post, ComicBook.com has also reported that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is also working on a new LEGO game revolving around DC villains and are referring to the project as “LEGO DC Villains” or “LEGO DC Supervillains.” Unlike before when we’ve gotten LEGO video games based on Batman and the other super heroes being the main focus, this new DC game will feature more of the villains like the Joker, Harley Quinn, and Lex Luthor. Sources have told ComicBook.com that the official title will be given some time over the next year.
Both games are said to be developed by TT Games which is also not surprising since they’ve been making LEGO video games for many years now. Some new LEGO video game news is pretty exciting since we haven’t heard of any new ones since LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 has released and is now cranking out DLCs for it.

I would be beyond happy if we got a DC villains game
I really hope the DC story will be as good (or better) than the LMS2 one. The stories in DC LEGO games have been quite boring, especially Batman 3.
I got a bit tired of LB2 because I’d already watched all of the cut scenes from the LEGO Batman DVD once or twice by then, but LB3 was pretty cool. Some of the Lantern planets were among my favorite parts of the entire LEGO/TT Games series so far. I haven’t played LMS2 yet, but LMS1 was decent enough. Much better than that half-baked story for LMCU that cut out most of the movies I actually liked in favor of the ones I didn’t.
Yeah, none of the Lego game stories have been “boring.”
i was really unhappy with the lack of molded heads for the two incredibles figs. They just didn’t look right.
Also I’m hoping the new games are a little more open world like, where you can explore, rather then the same old puzzle set ups.
This has to be fake. They could not seriously be expecting to make money off of the Incredibles? When it comes to the Villains game, I find that more believable, but barely. Lego Batman 3 already focused on the villains nearly as much as the heroes, and I can’t see them making an entire game devoted to villains.
I find it much more likely that the Incredibles rumor is completely fake, and that the DC game is actually based off of the DC Cinematic Universe, including Suicide Squad, hence the “villains” game.
To top it off, Bricks to Life isn’t reporting on the games yet. And as much as I hate that site, they usually know what they are talking about.
(There’s your fruit basket, Dan.)
I don’t know. Disney already had PotC before they bought their way into the Lucasfilm group of games. They’re on their third Marvel game in spite of the fact that WB wanted nothing to do with that. Disney is currently by far their biggest licensing partner. I used to think TMNT might have been a possibility until it got derailed by the loss of the license, but the Incredibles is actually a possibility.
Now, at first I was all like, “but they only have five powered heroes” (I forgot Jack-Jack) until I remembered this has a second movie to draw from. We could see an explosion of heroes coming out of the woodwork. They could also pull up all of the dead heroes from the first movie, like Gazerbeam, and they might even have access to the characters from Rise of the Underminer.
Between the two, I’m more hopeful for the Incredibles game. DC is guaranteed to get another game sooner or later, but The Incredibles is my favorite Pixar movie, and the best superhero movie Disney owns.
The Incredibles game was listed in the 2018 retailer catalog that was leaked last year for the Incredibles sets.
But did it explicitly say a “video game” was coming? If so, that is just plain disappointing. Why would Disney make and Incredibles game and not a Last Jedi game? It makes no sense…
“Upcoming LEGO video game creates awareness and ongoing engagement.”
Hmmm…perhaps we are missing something? Maybe the game is Pixar as a whole, such as Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Brave, Walle, etc.?
They can totally make money off The Incredibles. It’s one of Disney/Pixar’s most popular franchises, and the sequel has been one people have been asking for ever since the first film came out.
As for DC Villains, I don’t see why that seems so unlikely. The first LEGO Batman game had a Story Mode centred around the villains, and it was a lot of fun.
It wasn’t fun for me. Up until then I’d been buying them all for PC, and the only issue I’d run into was catching an Artifact in one of the LIJ games during the mine cart level. It was maxing out something on my computer, so at least half of the frames were getting dropped…including the one where you tag the Artifact.
For LB1, it got a lot worse. In the hero mission where you finally take down the Penguin, framerate again caused problems with the penguin bombs. I don’t remember how I solved that one, but I did figure out a trick. What I could never get past was the villain mission where you go through the greenhouse. You were supposed to use mind control on a guard to have him throw a switch, but I could never get the mind control icon to trigger, so I could never get out of that room once I got in. Eventually I caved and bought a Wii and the entire back catalog of LEGO games for Wii and played through them all again.
I played the early games on PS2, then xbox 360, the X1. I had the issue with the guard in LB1, but restarting the level fixed the issue.
I lost track of how many times I attempted that mission. The crucial part of the problem was that I never got the “?” icon next to the guard, so I never knew I was _supposed_ to mind-control him. I thought I was supposed to jump to the platform and attack him, and I thought it was possible if you got the jump just right. I just thought I never did, but I was probably either bouncing off an invisible wall, or it really wasn’t quite possible to make the jump regardless.
I remember the issue very well. After restarting the level, I was able to mind control, but the icon still didn’t appear.
Ok cool
