LEGO at New York Comic Con 2013

LEGO has been a big presence at various conventions throughout the years such as the Comic Cons in San Diego and New York. There’s been speculation of whether LEGO would make it to the 2013 New York Comic Con on October 10-13 and the news broke today that they will not be making an appearance this year. Last year, the company revealed the LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line during NYCC and we were hoping there would be some sort of reveal during this year’s event. I guess they could be saving the reveals for a fully-fledged LEGO convention such as LEGO Fan Weekend or BrickWorld Fort Wayne coming up later this month instead of a convention that isn’t nearly as big as San Diego Comic Con. LEGO’s decision not to be at NYCC 2013 could also be a result of what happened during SDCC 2013 and the Super Heroes minifigure debacle. Does this also mean LEGO won’t be making any more appearances at future conventions such as next year’s NYCC and SDCC? Only time will tell.

Update: Thanks to the theBrickBlogger for the update on why LEGO will not be at New York Comic Con. Earlier this year, LEGO was in New York to reveal the giant X-Wing Starfighter to promote The Yoda Chronicles and most of their budget went to that event. That’s a sigh of relief as LEGO will probably be returning next year for future events. False alarm people!

LEGO choose not to got to NYCC because they blew their budget on the New York X-wing reveal. I have been in touch with Chad from YourCreative Friends, as he was going to go as our field-reporter. He was told about a month ago that LEGO was not going to participate this year. This doesn’t mean though they won’t attend future events. 🙂

I think they just being polite by using budget as a reason! Realty It’s all because people from fbtb.net were extremely rude and were trying to make some exclusive sensation about figures raffle. Thanks to those lunatics collectors and lego enthusiasts won’t get anything! I knew that as soon as they started making up this case on they blog.
