There are official images of a new 2017 LEGO Seasonal Romantic Valentine Picnic (40236) set that has surfaced on LEGO’s servers. It appears that LEGO has gone back to the vignette-type sets from 2015 instead of the buildable character ones from this year. The set has 126 pieces and will retail for $9.99 starting in January.
Includes 2 minifigures: a boy and a girl, plus a bird figure.
Features a blooming tree, heart-shaped lawn, bouquet of flowers, red balloon and various buildable accessories and elements, including a picnic blanket, 2 sandwiches, cakes, table, 2 glasses and a bottle.
Measures over 3” (9cm) high, 4” (12cm) wide and 4” (12cm) deep.

People buying this instead of real gifts representing in this set are gonna have severely disappointed significant others.
This set > A pineapple.
This made me laugh. Getting this set on Valentines day would indeed be much nicer than getting a pineapple.
Love this set. Hope the price stays at $9.99 and doesn’t go up to $12.99
LOVE!
Even at $12-13 it’s a nice set!
Loved the 2015 sets. Didn’t care for the 2016 buildable figs. Really happy the vignettes are back. This is a really nice set.
Glad to see they’re going back to the vignette format similar to the 2015 seasonal sets. This one actually looks even better in my opinion than the 2015 Valentine’s set! Lots of great pieces and good depth.
I will echo everyone else’s sentiment and say I am really glad the vignettes are back. This looks really good, and will definitely pick it up.
Is that green baseplate shaped like a heart? Too cute!
Lots of interesting pieces in this set. The trans blue heart could be replaced with a gem and that fountain could be used in a lot of applications. The torso on the boy looks new and interesting. The birdhouse in the brick-built tree is nice.
I’m looking forward to it and join everyone in applauding the end of the ugly scary brick-built people!
The boy torso is new, only if you haven’t got Fun in the Park.
