Every year, LEGO has celebrated the Chinese New Year with various Spring Festival sets and one of them coming in 2026 is the Fortune Master (40864). Coming in at 386 pieces, the set will retail for $29.99.
The Fortune Master is a representation of the what we Chinese call 财神 or the God of Fortune/Wealth. You may have seen the larger porcelain which are displayed to bring in wealth.
The build is fairly straight-forward with these character type sets. We start off with the base and the body. The base seems to be some clouds that are filled with printed 2×2 round tiles of old Chinese coins on the left side and larger gold ingots on the right.
The Fortune Master has a fairly wide body that is dressed in mostly red with some pearl-gold and teal at the neck. He does have some hands that are able to move with one of them holding a red envelope.
The head has a more comical look with the wider size to match the body and very large ears. It doesn’t move but does have a little bobble as it is only attached with a Technic axle. He wears a red hat that has a small gold ingot in the front.
The main “play” feature here is that he has three different sets of eyes to change his facial expressions. He has the static smiling mouth and the sets of eyes include normal, happy, and laughing. Of course you can mix and match and the extra ones can be stored inside the white barrel on the right side of the base.
Overall the LEGO Spring Festival Fortune Master (40864) is a cute little set that can be displayed year-round. I do like that all the designs on the red envelope and coins use printed pieces instead of stickers. This does make the price of the set a little more than it should be. $5-$10 less would’ve been the ideal price for it.
