LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 (30611) Polybag Building Instructions

LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 (30611)

A few days ago, I reported on a new LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 (30611) polybag. This was a brick-built version of the droid which looks very cute. It looks like the instructions for the build are now online. It looks all the parts are fairly common except for the couple of printed 1×1 tile pieces for the front, which are exclusive. So if you already have all the parts, you can building R2-D2 pretty easily but have to do without the detailing in the front.

It looks to me like there’s a printed head dome, too, which is much more significant than the printed 1×1 tiles in the front.

    Clearly this is fake. Iol

    • Very fake.

      • Sid Dinsay

Wait, really??? I hope not. It’s a brilliant build.

not fake, u can get the instructions straight off of lego.com

      • David4

On another LEGO site some guy just went on and one about how it’s fake because the dome piece looks too big and none of the pieces say “LEGO” on it, like you could see that in the photos.

Some people are just crazy. lol

i hope we can buy soon, and it is not some vip thing. also wht is that piece in step 12

I wonder if this is linked to an unknown ucs set like Anakin’s star fighter from I or III?
Or maybe it so people can switch it if they don’t like the minifig scale one being in the ucs xwing.

  • Rick Sanchez

I finally have a use for the dark red printed astromech head from the ucs obiwan jedi starfighter. now I just have to find it, years later.

So Lego says, quote unquote, they cannot share the info on this polybag, but it is legit and they aren’t saying, which is crap!
