In our final review of the new LEGO Wicked sets, we take a look at probably my favorite set out of the wave with the Emerald City Wall Art (75685). The set has 1,518 pieces and retails for $159.99.

Minifigures

This is the other set in the wave that includes minifigures instead of minidolls. There are six of them which include Glinda, Elphaba, Dorothy Gale, Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow, and Tin Man.

Dorothy Gale has on her blue plaid dress which is a little different than her original look where it had some white at the top. Her double-sided head shows her with a smile on one side and a shocked expression on the other. Her double ponytail hairpiece uses a soft rubber instead of the hard plastic. Her accessory is Toto.

Scarecrow looks to be a newly transformed Fiyero where he still has features of his human self. He’s still yearing the dark green uniform but has more straw printing. His double-side head shows him with smiles on both sides and also has some straw printing as well.

Tin Man is the transformed version of Boq where he is fully silver. Some details on him include the little chamber for his heart. The legs also have some nice printing on them as well.

Lastly we have the Cowardly Lion who is just a lion mold piece. He does have a sad expression on his face.

Build

The whole build is based on the 3D Art style that we’ve seen before in other LEGO sets. The central focus is Emerald City that uses different shades of green on the towers. To the left of Emerald City is a miniature Shiz University while the right of it has the Emerald City Train.

In the sky, we have the Wizard’s hot air balloon and the top right is a spot to put the Elphaba minifigure on. There are also some green rays and clouds as well as a rainbow on the left side.

The lower part of the build has a more protruded design which has some hidden and not so hidden features. For the non-hidden feature, we have Glinda’s bubble on the left side. There’s enough room inside to put the Glinda minifigure in as well as the stand piece.

Next to it is the path to Munchkinland where there’s some minibuilds of the houses. The continuation of the Yellow Brick Road leads to some printed pieces including the Wicked logo and a tile of Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion.

The hidden thing here is that the Munchkinland panel in the front pops off to reveal a large space for the minifigures as well as the stand.

As with all the other Wall Art sets, you can hang the set on a wall as LEGO has included some hanger pieces on the back.

Results

I’ve been a fan of the wall art sets and the LEGO Wicked Emerald City Wall Art (75685) is no exception. It shows a nice miniature scene that Dorothy and the others go from Munchkinland to Emerald City on the Yellow Brick Road. The minifigures of the characters are a welcome change considering that this set is targeting the older demographic. There are no stickers in the set so that’s also another positive. The only downside is that it is fairly pricey given the number of pieces.
