LEGO Italian Market Van (5009422) GWP Revealed

A few days ago, LEGO revealed the LEGO Ideas Italian Riviera (21359) and they said that there was a Mediterranean Scene gift with purchase set to go along with it. It was thought that it would be an actual scene build but it is actually the Italian Market Van (5009422) which has just been revealed on the LEGO Shop.

The 142 piece set features a blue Piaggio Ape carrying a lemon tree along with a toolbox, broom, shovel, flowerpot, and a box with a fish and starfish. It’s a neat little set to go along with the Italian Riviera but the press release was kind of misleading.

Boys and girls ages 10 plus can play out fun stories with this Italian Market Van building toy, a fun gift for kids with a passion for Italy and cool vehicles. Inspired by the classic Piaggio Ape model seen on the streets of Italy, this LEGO® vehicle with opening doors includes a minifigure to place behind the wheel. The van is also packed with cool accessories including a lemon tree, a toolbox, a broom and shovel, a flowerpot and a box with a fish and starfish. Set contains 142 pieces.

When you check out Samuel’s account, you can see thousands and thousands of dollars of rare LEGO items that he has obtained throughout the years and the Peter Jackson minifigure may be one of the most rare ones in his collection.

We’re in pretty much unprecedented territory for LEGO Ideas as we’re now at 90 projects that have qualified for the Second 2025 Review Stage. At this point, there’s no question that 100 qualified projects is well within possibility and I’m going to venture a guess that we might even reach as high as 120. The qualifying period ends at the end of August so there’s plenty of time for projects to gather votes.
