New LEGO Harry Potter 2018 Set Rumors

With every passing day, there is new information regarding the rumored return of LEGO Harry Potter. As I stated a few days ago, there are supposedly five sets that will be coming out in the wave, three for Harry Potter and two for Fantastic Beasts. It now looks like that Brick Fanatics has new information about the sets that are coming out for this LEGO Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme. The ones for the Harry Potter franchise include:

– Aragog with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley
– Flying Ford Anglia with The Whomping Willow
– Hogwarts Great Hall

The two sets that are for Fantastic Beasts are:

– Newt Scamander’s Suitcase – This is supposedly a buildable suitcase with brick built beasts to store inside the suitcase.

– A new set based on Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

If these sets are what LEGO has planned for next summer, they seem to be interesting sets. The first two were parts of previous sets but it’ll be nice to see them in a set by themselves. The Great Hall could potentially be a larger sized set. As for Newt’s Suitcase, it’s a compelling concept and I’m intrigued to see how it’s actully pulled off.

All the sets sound cool and everything but they could also be a false trail as Severus Snape so eloquently stated. As always, none of the above is confirmed until they are officially announced by LEGO.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Rhino Face-Off (76099) Sale on Amazon

If you’re looking to pick up the new LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Black Panther sets that will be coming out in January, you may want to pre-order it on Amazon. They currently have the Rhino Face-Off (76099) on sale for $15.99 which is 20% off the regular price. Unless you can’t wait to get it in stores early at Toys R Us or want LEGO VIP points for it, I’d say it’s a pretty good deal especially for a new set.

The Rhino Face-Off has all exclusive minifigures along with the mining cart track which feature the new roller coaster tracks that we should start seeing in 2018.

LEGO Creator Downtown Diner (10260) Designer Video

LEGO Creator Downtown Diner (10260)

The LEGO Creator Downtown Diner (10260) was announced at the end of November but a new thing LEGO has been doing is putting out the designer video a while after instead of the same time as the reveal. Earlier today, LEGO has released the designer video of the Downtown Diner (10260) and senior designer Mike Psiaki talks about his latest creation but only a little part of it. The video mostly focuses on Mike himself as a designer. The Downtown Diner will be available starting on January 1 for $169.99.

Drop in at the LEGO® Creator Expert 10260 Downtown Diner, where you’ll discover a healthy portion of fun and surprises. This impressive model features removable building sections for easy access to the detailed interior, which comprises a ground-level 1950s-style diner with a large curved front window, red bar stools, jukebox, counter and an open-plan kitchen. The mid level has a gym with boxing ring, punching bag and weight training room, while on the upper-level you’ll find a recording studio, complete with vocal booth, mixing desk and a refreshments cabinet. The facade of the building features pink-and-teal Streamline Moderne styling with a large ‘DINER’ sign. Other external features include arched windows, balconies and a staircase, plus a pink convertible car and a detailed sidewalk, complete with mailbox, parking meter, flowerpots and a streetlamp. This incredible collectible toy has been designed to provide a challenging and rewarding building experience with a touch of nostalgia and charm. Includes 6 minifigures.

LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Roller Coaster Set Coming Summer 2018

The new roller coaster elements from The LEGO Batman Movie The Joker Manor (70922) opens up a lot of opportunities for roller coaster sets in the future and it looks to be happening in summer 2018. Rumor has it that there will be a LEGO Creator 3-in-1 roller coaster set (31084) that is pirate themed and uses the new track and cart pieces. There’s no other details given but expect to see images of the set at the Nuremberger Toy Fair at the beginning of February.

Solo: A Star Wars Story First Look

A new first look at the Solo: A Star Wars Story has surfaced online and it gives us a look at some of the characters including Han Solo, Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca, and Kira. What’s more interesting is that the second image shows the blue and white Millennium Falcon before it was modified.

As I reported a few days ago, there will be five LEGO sets coming out for the movie and rumor has it that one of them is the Millennium Falcon. The design of the Falcon is different from the ones that we’ve gotten already so it’ll be interesting to see if LEGO will be using this new design and not just changing out the colors of the old one while keeping the usual design. We’ll see in April when the Solo LEGO sets are released.

2016 LEGO Ideas Sets Retiring Soon

2017 is quickly coming to an end and to make way for some of the upcoming LEGO Ideas sets including Ship In A Bottle: The Flagship Leviathan, Voltron: Defender of the Universe, and Tron Legacy Light Cycle, LEGO will soon be retiring some of the current ones that are still on store shelves. LEGO didn’t mention when they would be retired but it’s possible that it could be by the end of this year or early next year.

More Rumors of LEGO Harry Potter 2018 Sets

Way back in August, I talked about a rumor that LEGO Harry Potter may be coming back in 2018. It looks like there are some new rumors the past few days that have popped up regarding LEGO Harry Potter. It seems that we’ll be getting five sets in total, three for the Harry Potter franchise and two for Fantastic Beasts. There’s no details whether it will be for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald or not but it seems that would be logical since it will be in theaters in November.

I’ve also talked about a LEGO Harry Potter Collectible Minifigures line a few months ago and I’ve heard rumblings that it might be an August 2018 release. Supposedly this CMF line encapsulates The Wizarding World of Harry Potter which basically means that everyone and everything is game. Who doesn’t want a Dudley Dursley minifigure?

As always, none of the above is confirmed until they are officially announced by LEGO but the rumors seem to gain steam with every passing day.
