LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253) – Day 8

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253)

Onwards to Day 8 of the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253) and today we have something that fits the winter theme pretty well. This miniature igloo is an okay build utilizing a lot of shite cheese slopes to get the angles. The use of the 2×2 round jumper plate is also a good choice. The only strange thing is that the igloo is on blue plates so it may seem that it is floating on water.

These have been floating around the internet for a while but there are now official images of the 2018 LEGO Super Heroes Mighty Micros sets coming out of Italian shop Mattoncinifamosi. There are six in this wave, three from LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes and three from LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. Some things that are nice to see are the return of blue version of Nightwing and a lighter colored outfit for Supergirl.

LEGO Ideas RuPaul’s Brick Race Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The RuPaul’s Brick Race by SeeMarkGeek is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project is based on the reality competition show called RuPaul’s Drag Race and honestly, I’ve never even heard of it before I saw it on the most supported projects list. Apparently, it’s based on some competition called Clutch Game which is a celebrity impersonation challenge. I’ll just leave it at that.

RuPaul’s Brick Race now joins the Pop-Up Book, Boat House Diner, The Lighthouse, Jaguar E-Type Roadster, and The Dive Shop as the projects to reach the Third 2017 Review Stage.

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253) – Day 7

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253)

It seems like the first week of December flew by just like that and let’s see what we get for the end of the first week for the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253). As you can see, we have an awkward looking penguin. THe design of it is okay for the most part but the colors are way out there with the tan body and blue arms. The most scary part of it are the studs with holes used for the eyes. This is, to say the least, absolutely creepy. There are some 1×1 round eye tile pieces in the set so I’m not sure why LEGO didn’t decide to use them. I’ve taken the liberty to do so and it looks a little better.

BrickLink Announces Site Will Catalog BrickArms Products

Yesterday, BrickLink announced that they will now start start cataloging BrickArms items and sellers will be able to add them to their inventory. If you’re not familiar with BrickArms, they are LEGO compatible accessories that specialize in military weapons and equipment which are not present in official LEGO products.

Of course, this annoucement has caused some outrage for longtime sellers on BrickLink who, for the most part, are not happy with this change. BrickLink has been known to sell LEGO products as well as some custom items before but those items were still on official LEGO parts like custom minifigures and bricks. BrickArms, however, are technically not genuine LEGO parts but are complementary to them and are pretty high quality molds from what I’ve seen.

Some commenters have say that this could open the door to other companies like LEPIN or Mega Bloks and even BrickLink mentions that they are open to adding more brands to the site in the future, with restrictions. One thing that’s for sure is that BrickLink will be trying it out and seeing how it goes.

For fans of BrickArms, this move makes the brand more accessible since they are only sold through authorized resellers. Adding them BrickLink will be another source to get the products. BrickLink will be making some changes to the site to filter out BrickArms products if you don’t want to see them.

As I stated yesterday on Twitter, this announcement is questionable but we’ll just have to see if this decision pans out or … Continue
