LEGO Creator London Bus (40220)

From now until August 15 at LEGO Brand Stores and on Shop@Home, LEGO is giving out the LEGO Creator London Bus (40220) with purchases of $75 or more as part of their main promotion for the month in the US and Canada. The contents of the box include two unnumbered bags, a 2×12 black plate, the instruction booklet, and a sticker sheet.

The 118-piece build is simple as you pretty much stack bricks and plates up. As the bus is a double-decker, both levels are similar with slight differences. The lower level has a lot of windows which uses the 1×2 trans-clear bricks. Not immediately shown on the front is the fairly new 1×2/2×4 angle plate used to attach the black grill pieces and 1×1 trans-clear studs for the headlights. The back left of the bus has an opening for bus entrance and a 1×1 tile for the step. At the very back, there are some 1×1 trans-clear studs for the tail lights. To finish off the lower level, there’s a 1×2 white tile with a sticker for the license plate.

For the upper level of the London Bus, there are more of the 1×2 trans-clear bricks along with some 1×1 trans-clear bricks for the windows. The main feature here are some of the large bus advertisement stickers for the set. On the left side, the sticker features the Union Jack flag along with the Big Ben (10253)icon with the words, “NOW’S THE TIME TO VISIT!” On the opposite side of the London Bus, there’s … Continue

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2017 Set Rumors

The rumor mill is in full swing over on the Eurobricks Marvel topic about an upcoming LEGO 2017 set. Just2Good has “confirmed” that we’ll be getting a set next year featuring Agent Coulson and his car Lola. Other known reporters like amazingbricks and Sir Gareth have chimed in and said the set will also include Iron Man as well as Detroit Steel with the latter being a bigfig. While Detroit Steel isn’t a big name villain, it’s nice to see some variety in characters. Speaking of which, an Agent Coulson minifigure is long overdue along with Lola. From what I’m gathering, this is more of a comic/game based set and not the MCU/Agents of SHIELD version. The price point that was mentioned in the thread was going to be around $30-$50.

There’s isn’t much going on for the LEGO Marvel sets at this time but there is more information slowly coming out every day like the one mentioned above and we already know about the Hulk vs. Red Hulk set. Early indications show that we’re getting more obscure characters and not as many rehashes of existing characters which is nice. So what do you guys think of this rumored set with an interesting combination of characters? Personally, I can’t wait to see it but it looks like it’ll be a fun little set.

Update: It may seem that Detroit Steel might be a brick-built figure similar to the Hulkbuster.

The weird thing that you can make purchases today on the regular desktop Shop@Home site and it does state that the points are doubled on the product listings and on your shopping cart. I’ll also state that the Double VIP event is for USA and I’m not sure if other countries have it or not.

Update: The promo is now listed on the desktop version of Shop@Home and it now states August 5-7 as was mentioned before.
