Earlier today, Mark Warburton from TT Games shared some images of the Sonic the Hedgehog minifigure that will coming out for year two of LEGO Dimensions. As we know by know Sonic the Hedgehog will be one of the new licensed properties that will be coming to the popular toys-to-life genre along with a slew of other characters.
As you can see, the Sonic LEGO minifigure is pretty true to the character with the new molded head piece. He is also shown holding a life preserver piece instead of the One Ring piece as shown at the end of the trailer but this could be just a placeholder. We’ll have to wait and see when the images of the expansion pack are released.
Thanks to everyone who emailed this in from NeoGAF while I was at work.
Just a short while ago, LEGO officially revealed the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2017 Mighty Micros sets. Like with the DC wave, there will be three sets for Marvel as well and will be displayed at San Diego Comic Con 2016 next month. As seen above, we have Wolverine vs. Magneto. Wolverine has a X-Wing Mighty Micro while the Magneto minifigure looks kind of like Onslaught with black head piece with white eyes.
Next up we also have Iron Man vs. Thanos. This is the first time we have Thanos in a traditional minifigure form, albeit a tiny version, and he comes with an Infinity Gauntlet Mighty Micro with the Infinity Gems. The Iron Man minifigure has the classic Armor Model 4 suit.
Finally we have Spider-Man vs. Scorpion. Spider-Man makes another appearance in a Mighty Micros set with a slightly different head printing and this time he has the Spider-Mobile.

Today I have a short review of the exclusive LEGO Toys R Us Geoffrey & Friends (40228) set. This set was gifted to me by my store manager at Babies R Us who went to a meeting at the flagship TRU in New York. The set contains 133 pieces and retails for $9.99. It is currently unavailable here in the US for purchase at this time but is available at Toys R Us Germany. The contents of the box include two un-numbered bags, the instruction booklet, and a sticker sheet.
LEGO has announced that they will be continuing the LEGO Super Heroes Mighty Micros line in 2017 and today they have shown off a sneak peek at some of the sets that will be coming next year.
The first set, shown above, is Superman vs. Bizarro (76068). This is the first time that the Bizarro minifigure has been in a widely available set and not the San Diego Comic Con exclusive.
Next is Wonder Woman vs. Doomsday (76070) in which Wonder Woman gets an Invisible Plane Mighty Micro made up of lots of clear pieces. Also Doomsday now becomes an official minifigure although he is the chibi version.
Last up is Batman vs. Killer Moth (76069). This version of Batman is the chibi version of the Adam West classic Batman which includes the retro Batcopter.
LEGO has hashtagged their post with #SDCC so we can probably expect to see these in person at San Diego Comic Con next month.
There are some new details regarding what we can expect to see from The LEGO Batman Movie. Producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller in a recent interview with Collider has given some little tidbids about the movie.
First, there are no limits to what eras of Batman will be covered. They also stated that the movie is pretty much a 90-minute Easter egg and it covers anything up to Batman v Superman as well as the future of Batman, whatever that means.
The LEGO Batman Movie won’t be out for quite a while so we can expect many more little teasers and tidbids of it until then. Hopefully, we’ll get to see something for it from San Diego Comic Con next month.
