LEGO Announces Global Training Program for Vietnam Factory Employees

Back in 2021, The LEGO Group announced that there will be a new $1 billion LEGO factory in the Binh Duong Province of Vietnam. Ahead of its opening next year, they have launched a global training program for employees. Here they will learn the necessary skills and knowledge about the various manufacturing equipment used in LEGO production. Test production is on track to start by the end of this year with the grand opening scheduled for the first half of 2025.

BINH DUONG PROVINCE, VIETNAM, October 9, 2024: The LEGO Group is kicking off a comprehensive training programme for hundreds of its team members at its new LEGO factory in Binh Duong province in southern Vietnam. The programme is designed to equip employees with the skills and knowledge necessary to operate high-tech production equipment ahead of the factory’s grand opening in the first half of 2025.

The training programme will include both hands-on learning overseas at the company’s factories worldwide, as well as local-on-the-job training, creating an exchange between newly hired employees in Vietnam and international colleagues with deep subject matter expertise. LEGO Micro Ninjago City Sets Discounted in Rewards Center

Earlier this year, LEGO released the Micro Ninjago City sets in the Insiders Rewards Center and it doesn’t look like they are selling well because they have all been discounted. Originally, each set required between 2,300-2,700 Insiders points but they all now require 1,800 points to redeem. Obviously it’s a bummer for those who spent an extra 500-900 points to get them when they first came out but who knew that LEGO would discount them later on.

LEGO Bakery (40696) Gift with Purchase Revealed

The LEGO Shop has revealed the last microscale shop gift with purchase set with the Bakery (40696). It has 376 pieces and will require a $200 purchase to get it. The set features the same microscale detailing as in the previous three sets in the wave with the open back. There’s no word yet on when it will be available yet.

LEGO Ideas Fortnite vs Halloween Building Contest

LEGO Ideas is doing a Fortnite vs Halloween building contest where the winning build could be put in the game. All you have to do is to create your creepiest LEGO build. There will be 15 finalists with the grand prize winner getting the following:

• 77072 – Peely Bone
• 77071 – Supply Llama
• 77070 – Durrr Burger
• 21347 – Red London Telephone Box
• 21344 – The Orient Express Train
• 21342 – The Insect Collection

Upcoming Make & Take Events at LEGO Stores

If you have some free time this month, LEGO Brand Stores will be holding a couple of Make & Take events. The first one comes this Sunday, October 13 from 12-2pm for a LEGO Gaming Controller. The other one is on Sunday, October 27 from 12-2 for a LEGO Halloween Spider. Both builds are on a first come, first serve basis and once the slots fill up, they won’t allow any more people to build it so get there early if you want to participate.
