LEGO Star Wars Microfighters Clone Turbo Tank (75028) Review

When the images of the new LEGO Star Wars Microfighters first came out last year for this current wave, I was a thousand times more excited for these set than the regular system sets. These Microfighters are miniature models, aka chibi-style, of their regular counterparts. These new sets have also replaced the Planets sets.

The first Microfighters set that we have for review is the Clone Turbo Tank (75028). The set has 96 pieces and retails for $9.99. The contents of the box includes a small instruction booklet, two unnumbered bags, and two loose 1×10 black Technic brick with holes.

Preview of LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary: Updated and Expanded

LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary: Updated and Expanded

Earlier today, an image of the new LEGO Star Wars Sandcrawler (75059) was presumably found in the new LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary: Updated and Expanded. The previous version of the book was released in 2009 and this updated Dictionary will have 48 additional pages to include all the sets that have been released in the past 5 five years such as last year’s Ewok Village (10236), the new Microfighters sets from this year, and the Sandrawler as mentioned above.

The book also has updated their “Beyond the Bricks” chapter where it behind-the-scenes on how the sets are made by the designers. As with many other LEGO books by DK, there will also be an exclusive minifigure included. It hasn’t been revealed of who it will be. DK has noted they will reveal who it will be very soon. It has been rumored that it will be another variant of Luke Skywalker. If you’re a fan of the previous LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary, you’ll surely be a fan of this version as well. Amazon is currently taking pre-orders for the book and it will be available in May.

The LEGO Movie Combine & Build Instructions

LEGO Create & Combine Ice Cream Cruiser

The LEGO Movie minisite has been updated with a new section called Create & Combine in which they provide downloadable instructions for some really cool looking builds. Provided that you have the correct sets, you will be able to build these new vehicles. The last build is Emmet’s Dimensional Portal Machine and LEGO has only provided the pieces to create it. There’s nothing to combine on that build. These instructions give builders an inspiration to combine other sets they may have to create something unique.

The above image is called the Ice Cream Cruiser and it combines the Master Builder Academy Level – Space Designer (20200) and The LEGO Movie Ice Cream Machine (70804).

First Image of the New LEGO Star Wars Sandcrawler (75059)

Flickr user kjavis88 has posted the first image of the new LEGO Star Wars Sandcrawler (75059). The image appears that it’s from the LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary: Updated and Expanded that is supposed to come out in May. The new Sandcrawler has lots of plates usage and also includes Uncle Owen Lars and at least three Jawas minifigures. Other things the Sandcrawler has are LEGO Technic treads, a magnetic winch, and a Jawa hoversled. It has been rumored that this new set would be revealed at Brick Cascade 2014 and would be the exclusive for LEGO’s May the 4th promotion. Other reports show that the Sandcrawler would go for $349.99. Now we just have to wait for the official images of the set. This also makes me wonder what other new things are updated in the new LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary.
