LEGO Shop@Home Retiring Soon List Updated

LEGO has updated their list of “Retiring Soon” sets on Shop@Homeicon. What’s interesting is the Legend of Chima Speedorz sets are the first in the theme to go away because they just came out late 2012/early 2013. We already know that there will be another wave of Chima sets this summer but it seems a little fast to retire these so early. If you’ve been holding off getting them, I’d suggest picking them up as soon as possible.

Update from LEGO:

Just wanted to clarify that there is no mistake on the Friends and Chima items. The Friends Pets and Chima Speedorz are set to refresh on much shorter timelines than most sets.

LEGO City Undercover Limited Edition on Nintendo Wii U Europe

LEGO City: Undercover Limited Edition

I’m not sure how I missed this but last month Nintendo announced there will be a limited edition of LEGO City Undercover for the Wii U which will include the Chase McCain minifigure. This bundle will be a European exclusive and is set to be released on March 28. If you were in the US, you had a chance to get the minifigure last year when Target stores were selling it with preorders of the game. There’s no word yet on how much the bundle will cost.

Office Wall Filled With 1200 LEGO Minifigures

Tax season is coming up here in the US so this is fairly relevant. A UK company called Qubic Tax wanted something to liven their office. They commissioned this project to creative consulting firm, Acrylicize, to come up with something that revolved around the “Tax” theme. They got together and figured something out that would best fit the vision Qubic wanted. What better way to represent this vision is to make a wall filled with LEGO minifigures. Why minifigures? They characterize the population in that people have many different jobs, but all of them have something similar: Everyone pays taxes. So Acrylicize spent a weekend putting together this evenly-spaced 1200 minifigure piece and hung it up. Finding 1200 different LEGO minifigs must have taken a lot of planning as well. Nobody likes to pay taxes but at least this adds a playful mood to a serious matter. After seeing this, now I want something like this at my office too.
